I was surprised when a government agency @UDLSOfficial refused to use the new NINs to process a driving license. That’s when I realized that we are in hot soup. I think @NITAUganda1 should have been involved somehow.

This house in India is quietly making a case Africa should be paying attention to.

Studio Kaha's "House of Symmetry" leans almost entirely on passive design to stay comfortable, private courtyards pulling in light and air, and brick screens doing triple duty: shading, privacy, and thermal comfort, all without a single mechanical system doing the heavy lifting. That's not a luxury add-on. That's the whole strategy.

Now picture that exact logic here, on this continent, in this climate. We live in the tropics. We deal with heat every single day, and yet so much of our newer construction still leans on imported glass facades and AC units to survive a climate our own ancestors already knew how to design around passively. Brick, the very material this house builds its identity around, is something we have in abundance across Africa, clay-rich soil, centuries of masonry tradition, and we're still underusing it in favor of materials that don't even suit our weather.

Add Afrocentric pattern and art into brick screens like these, the same way this project integrated custom artwork into its architecture, and you get something that isn't just climate-smart. It's ours, visually and materially, instead of borrowed.

We don't need to import comfort. We need to look at what already works, and build with what's already ours.

Our Ancestors conducted brain surgeries since over thousands of years ago done mostly by a Herbalist which the Europeans called Witch doctors cause they never understood the science of using herbs.

The patient was given lots of alcohol, then pinned down by people and the herbalist will split their skull and remove the tumor from the brain. Then cover the gape with herbs and bind the skull together with ropes made from palm fronds. Patient heals over some weeks. #Africa
