SHE STARTED BUSINESS TWO WEEKS AGO, BUT SALES IS SLOW

I saw this picture in one business group I belong. A member shared it saying she started provision business two weeks ago, but sales are low.

She is asking for advice on how to get more sales and more customers.

Some said slow sales is everywhere.
Some said she should add pure water and drinks.
Some said she should add POS.
Some said two weeks is not enough to judge, she needs to give it more time.

A lot of people shared helpful opinions.

But my opinion is - If you have small capital like this to start a small business, please dont sell many things.

Sell one thing or very few things.

Maybe garri.
Maybe eggs.
Maybe cooked food like beans porridge or jollof rice.
Maybe roasted corn + pear
Maybe akara
Maybe moimoi and pap
Maybe low-priced snacks
Maybe fruits like pineapple and watermelon.
Maybe only vegetables like ugu and others.
Maybe only tomatoes, pepper and onions

Trying to sell an assortment of products with very small capital makes scaling very hard.

Selling one or few things makes people see you as an expert in that thing and you soon grow quickly.

If you use 1million to buy 50 different things, people will still come and be asking for another 50 different things. Yet, your shop will look like you have nothing

But 1million is more than enough to deal in one product in decent volumes and people will see you as a loyal big player.
