I’m disappointed our legislature chose politics over positive growth in our communities.
Take a look at some of the new restaurants calling Downtown Mesa home! https://t.co/jidWaLtlKV
“If you've been to downtown Mesa, even in just the past year, you would see that all the retails are actually booming.”
Light rail is crucial to continue Mesa’s strong economic growth. https://t.co/7PTfkVa3Ip
After Rep. Barbara Parker complains that light rail has been bad for Mesa, Rep. @LorenaAustin4Az rebuts: “it has been absolutely transformative for downtown Mesa” attracting businesses, nightlife and higher education. “And also, not everyone in the Valley can afford a car.”
TONIGHT! Come out to @AZWildernessCo Downtown Location from 4-8 to support Equality Maricopa and their goal to create the state’s first LGBTQ+ specialty license plate with proceeds benefitting the PRISM Scholarship at Maricopa Community Colleges.
This weekend is #WearOrange Weekend. Every day more than 100 lives are lost to gun violence, and yet the legislative majority refuses to even consider lifesaving, common sense gun safety measures like background checks and red flag laws.
Thoughts and prayers are not enough.
For 55 years it has provided financial assistance to over 1,000 students. Today, we honor and pay tribute to our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Last month I traveled to Washington D.C. and visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial where I found the name of my Uncle, Albert D. “Butchie” Austin Jr., who was honored as a City of Mesa Hometown Hero for his courageous sacrifice on the frontlines of the 1968 Tet Offensive during
the Vietnam War, ultimately taking his life. My uncle’s death mirrors the loss of so many families whose loved ones did not come home. Upon his death, my family established the Albert D. Austin, Jr. Scholarship fund at @mesacc.
Thank you to all who came out to support LD9 and learn about state issues. We do this because we believe it's important you have access to people that are making decisions on your behalf. A responsibility @SethBlattman and I do not take lightly! See you next time!
Last month I spoke with @AlyssaBickle1 who wrote a well-written article about the backstory of SB1001 and why myself and other colleagues are against hateful legislation.
@GovernorHobbs@LorenaAustin4Az Last month, @CopperCourier's @AlyssaBickle1 spoke with Austin about their comments, and how SB 1001 is one of a suite of pieces of discriminatory legislation from the Arizona Republican party aimed at LGBTQ communities.

Thank you @GovernorHobbs for vetoing #SB1001. Arizona’s youth shouldn’t have to live in fear of being their authentic selves. May we continue to do better.
GUERRERO GECKOS! @SethBlattman and I had a blast visiting with Guerrero Elementary! Thank you to the teachers, staff and students who lets us tag along for a few hours.
