You genuinely cannot make this stuff up. 😂
President @ZelenskyyUa thanked President @EmmanuelMacron for his assistance and support, awarding the Order of Freedom to the true friend of Ukraine.
This is the highest Ukrainian award that a foreigner can receive 🇺🇦🤝🇫🇷
Former MI6 chief Alex Younger: Putin is fundamentally invested in adversarial relationship with West.
What's Russia in the end? It's a kleptocracy, headed by Putin, whose only offer to Russian people, from whom they're stealing, is that they'll provide security against a threat.
Now, it follows that for that prospectus to continue, there needs to be a threat.
He needs to be in a state of constant conflict with the West in order to justify his own position.
So I don't think, absent genuine incentives, that Putin changes.
I see the "Fuck Your Feelings" crowd is out policing civility this morning.
Remember when Lindsay blasted Trump for mocking Robert Mueller's death? Or Colin Powell's? Or John McCain's?
Odd...me either.
Today, the Russians once again "vanquished" purely civilian sites – ordinary passenger buses in Odesa, ordinary apartment buildings in Zaporizhzhia, and an ordinary hospital in the Kharkiv region. Every single day of this war that Russia is waging against life only proves that supporting Ukraine is the right thing to do from every perspective – defense, political, and simply human.
And everyone around the world sees it. They see that Ukraine needs more air defense, more protection for people's lives, and that the Russian authorities have gone insane over this war and are completely irrational in refusing to end it.
But pressure on Russia must work. New sanctions against the aggressor, new support packages for Ukraine, new projects – like our European anti-ballistic initiative, FREYJA – all of this must work. Thank you to everyone who is helping. In the near future, there will be meetings and negotiations that must strengthen our defenses.
Lindsey Graham on Joe Biden (2015):
“If you can't admire Joe Biden as a person, you got a problem because what's not to like? He's the nicest person I think I've ever met in politics. He is as good a man as God ever created."
Trump’s interviews today about the passing of Graham made one thing clear, again, as he immediately promoted the “save” America act:
He is incapable of compassion.
He made it all about…. Himself.
He is a empty hollow “man”
Marco Rubio: "For years to come, there are many people on the right...that are going to be having to explain and justify how they fell into this trap of supporting Donald Trump because this is not going to end well.” (2016)
When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain.
A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.”
That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love.
I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.
… and the only reason this man can play for the U.S.? The birthright citizenship Trump is trying to overturn.
