Thank you, Eddie Howe.

When you walked through the door, Newcastle United fractured from top to bottom and staring relegation in the face in a position no club had survived from. Nobody expected what was about to happen.

You didn’t just save us. You completely transformed our football club.

You gave us our identity back.

You rebuilt the culture, raised the standards, united the dressing room, protected your players through constant noise and always represented Newcastle with nothing but class, humility and dignity.

You made people proud to support this club again. You knew what it meant for the city.

You knew what it meant to be the manager of Newcastle United Football Club.

Two Champions League qualifications.

Two cup finals.

A first major domestic trophy in 70 years.

Countless unforgettable nights at St James’ Park.

You turned dreams that felt impossible into reality.

You didn’t inherit a world-class squad. You developed one.

Joelinton became unrecognisable.

Schar, Murphy, Longstaff, Burn and countless others played the best football of their careers under you.

Bruno, Isak, Tonali, Gordon and so many more bought into your vision because of the environment you created.

But there were setbacks too.

Injuries. PSR. Transfer restrictions. Criticism. Pressure.

You never looked for excuses. You protected the club, took responsibility and kept everyone pulling in the same direction.

That’s what leaders do.

For me, you’re the best English manager in football and the best Newcastle manager of my lifetime. Certainly on the pedestal of Kevin Keegan and Sir Bobby Robson.

You gave an entire generation memories they’ll tell their children about.

The day at Wembley will live with me forever.

Enjoy a well-earned break, Eddie.

I sincerely hope the next time we see you in management it’s in the England dugout but whoever gets you next will be incredibly lucky.

Thank you for everything. You’ll always have a home in Newcastle.

Thank you for five years of amazing memories, ambition and commitment. Our whole fanbase is so proud to have had you as our manager.

So many unforgettable moments, especially that day in March 2025, when you were the man to do what so many before were unable to. So many greats have tried but you were the one. You gave us the greatest day of our lives and that is something that we will always remember you for.

Of course there are so many more, reaching the 2023 League Cup Final, Champions League nights under the lights at SJP and all of the unbelievable trips around Europe. It has been an amazing journey and we can’t thank you enough for everything.

Hope to see you again soon, once a Geordie always a Geordie!
