6 months in Lake of the Woods 6 months in Nuevo Vallarta. Follow me to see how - My husband Doug handles the deals- licensed realtor, I handle the living proof
Two completely different worlds. Same dog showing up completely, joyfully, without reservation in both.
He doesn't spend one minute at the lake missing the ocean. Doesn't spend one minute in Mexico wishing he was at the lake.
He is just — there. Fully.
It works.
Winnipeg winter is a personality test.
Most people fail around January.
There is a better way:
Nuevo Vallarta winters
Lake of the Woods summers
People who do it never look back — only wish they’d done it sooner.
If this is tugging at you… that’s your sign.

Archie slowed down this week — and if you know Goldendoodles, that’s saying something.
He found his spot above the dock and returns every morning like it’s sacred.
Some places just settle you.
DM me if you want to see what’s here.

How do you explain a lake with 14,000 islands?
You don’t. You experience it.
Lake of the Woods is the place people drive past without realizing it’s the thing they’ve been looking for.
If you want in, DM me.
Doug handles the deals — I live the proof.

The ones with the right location, the right view, the right combination of privacy and access — they move fast.
If you've been thinking about this lake — not someday thinking, actual thinking — now is the time to have the conversation.
Not because of pressure. Because of math.
Doug has been watching this market for twenty years. He knows what's coming before the sign goes up.
Not someday serious — actually serious? The conversation to have is with Doug. Right now.

Doug Armstrong | Sales Representative | RE/MAX Northwest Realty,
Ice-out on Lake of the Woods is a moment.
The channels open. The water changes colour. The loons come back. Boats on the water.
The whole world beyond the dock starts to look the way it looks in your mind when you're anywhere else wishing you were here.
We took the boat out yesterday with no plan.
No destination. No agenda. Just the two of us and 14,000 islands on a Sunday afternoon that belonged entirely to us. 🧵
But the beach is just the opening act.
End of a great day: front seat of the golf cart. Wind in his ears. The most satisfied expression you've ever seen on a living creature.
Tonight I'm in the back. He doesn't notice.
Two January mornings.
One: coffee on a balcony in Nuevo Vallarta. The Pacific — wide, warm, completely unbothered.
Two: this morning. The lake. The loons.
Both completely mine.
Most people spend their lives choosing one. We stopped choosing.
DM us if this is the year you do too.
A west view at Lake of the Woods stays with you.
When our new friends said goodbye to theirs, they called Doug — he's got the license for that part of the story. 😄
Now might be your moment.

6 weeks ago — Pacific views in Nuevo Vallarta. This morning — coffee at the lake, leaves barely peeking out.
Same me. Two worlds. Completely intentional.
The dual life isn't about two places. It's about two versions of yourself, each fully alive but different.
I choose both
Friday on Lake of the Woods hits differently. Not because the lake changes — it doesn't. What changes is you.
Shoulders drop. The urgent things stop mattering.
I used to count down to the weekend. Now I 'm on the lake wondering what I was counting down from.

Lake of the Woods didn't just call to us — it's been calling my family for 4 generations.
The dock, the lake, the late afternoon light. I didn't discover these things. I inherited them.
What we chose was to stop treating it like an escape & start treating it like a life. #lotw
Something stopped me this week.
Land on Black Sturgeon Lake. The kind that sits with you.
I'll let the licensed one around here tell you the rest. 😄

Archie figured it out this week. The dock. The trails. A tennis ball off the water.
He was always a lake dog. He just didn't know it yet.
How many of us are lake people who just haven't made it to the lake yet?

As heartbroken as I am, as pissed off as I am, I refuse to be silent. I refuse to give up. Women across this country are going to rise up like you’ve never seen. If you thought we were a lot before, just wait.
The U.S. National Weather Service expects the Red River to crest at Grand Forks as a major flood on Wednesday.
The crest is expected at Pembina/Emerson around May 2, also as a major flood.
This second crest is much higher than the first in early April. #mbflood
