When I read a book by someone I’m a fan of I always entertain a fantasy of what I’d say about the book should we happen to meet. Sandi you’ll be pleased to know we had a lovely chat about Dulwich, Crystal Palace dinosaurs, your old school choir, and the X68.
I’m reading @sanditoksvig ‘s book Between The Stops (on the train, which is slightly wrong, but I lived a long while in south london so feel great affection for the bus and many of the places mentioned) and I must say I am thoroughly enjoying it.
I have suffered an annoying professional disappointment so am taking the only logical course of action - making @Nigella_Lawson ‘s lemon risotto (from the comfort food chapter in Nigella Bites). Soon all shall be well. 🍋 And I picked the rosemary from my own garden!
@SlowPsycho@SW_Help Indeed and I am grateful for your insight. I just wanted to indicate to SWR that their staff could have told me this, instead of claiming they couldn’t possibly know anything or have information at all!
@SW_Help waiting at Clapham J for the Alton arrive which is “delayed” - no further information. Staff cannot tell us anything - apparently nobody knows if train will arrive in minutes or never. Nothing to do with Basingstoke incident. Why don’t your staff know anything?
@SW_Help I’m sorry to be so angry but I was really worried about how I would get home safely. If staff had told me only what you have told me I would have at least felt that they would help if they could. Explaining is important. Staff training point maybe.
@SW_Help Thanks but you need to give your staff this sort of info to pass on. You were announcing about Basingstoke, to passengers going there every. single. minute. But your staff had no info about other lines/stations; none. And didn’t make any effort to get any.
The announcer is repeating a message on the Basingstoke matter every minute, no exaggeration, but our train
is apparently an unsolvable mystery. Why are you not providing any information whatsoever? Why??
Last night we were rehearsing this lovely piece by @mrhigginsmusic (with a teeny bit of help from Elgar) - and not only are we performing it at our next concert, the man himself will be there to accompany us! 🎹🎶😊🎶🎹
