Scala has incredible technical merit.
Right now, the single best investment the Scala team could do @scala_lang is developer experience, by far, bar none.
Dev tools, compilation speed, publishing tools, docs, frameworks, trained AI assistants, probably in this order.
For Scala to get the popularity it deserves, the effort invested in these vs language features should be 10:1.
The gruesome details of Assad’s torture chambers now being revealed. In truth the barbarity of his regime has been long known. He merely continued the killing/torture fields of his father, which were also well-documented. Of course, not a dicky bird thru all these terrible decades from the International Criminal Court. No protest marches in London of a Saturday. Silence from the Stop the War trots. Not even Queers for Syria.
@Patrick_Barlow_ @jimhamilton4 I think he's referring to the transferability of skills from judo to Rugby. Manipulating people's weight against them seems useful as a rugby player to me!
@jbhearn Do you not feel that the responsibility is more on Russian government for a) invading another country and b) attacking civilians indiscriminately?
The war has public support in Russia AFAIK, so I don't think they show the empathy towards Ukrainians that you're showing here
Nobody worse than people who get served at a busy bar and fail to point out those who have been waiting longer than they have. Dregs of humanity. If you've ever done this, just know that you're universally hated and will never see heaven.
@bbcquestiontime Does an honest conversation include what government department would be cut to fund this? Or maybe what taxes he'd raise? This is not a sensible conversation
