Year one of Trump has been incredible. Consider: 4.4% GDP at end of year, 2.4% inflation, record high stock market, lowest murder rate since 1900, most secure border in history, & 10% decline in government employees. It’s honestly extraordinary.

BOMBSHELL.🚨
Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was spotted on the roof 26 minutes before the shooting occurred.
The FBI has confirmed that Crooks was seen by law enforcement members from the Allegheny County Police Department on the roof of a building with a clear sightline to the former president.
Despite being alerted to his presence, authorities failed to confront him, allowing him to remain hidden for nearly 30 minutes before he opened fire on Trump and the crowd.
The shocking new allegations have raised questions about how Crooks was able to evade detection and carry out the attack, which left Trump wounded and a member of the crowd dead.
A sniper even took a picture of the suspect with a rangefinder and radioed to the command post before the Trump assassination attempt, CBS reports.
Crooks was on local police and Secret Service's radar for nearly a half hour before the shooting attempt, but he kept "disappearing" before he climbed on the roof.
"Crooks disappeared again and then came back a THIRD time with a backpack," CBS reported. "The snipers called in with information that he had a backpack and said he was walking towards the back of the building."
It gets crazier. The New York Post reports local police were INSIDE the building that Thomas Crooks climbed on top of. The building was carved out of the Secret Service security perimeter and delegated to local police despite it being a "well-known high priority vulnerability.”
Before the shooting, a police officer actually confronted Crooks, who had a rifle. The police officer scrambled back down the ladder, allowing the shooter to fire at least five rounds at the former president.
No one had warned Trump.

De Santis’s Reality Defeats Newsom’s Fantasy World
Ron De Santis and Gavin Newsom performed as any who have watched them would have predicted.
At first, the glib and smarmy Newsom followed his usual script of strutting, posing— teeth sparkling, hair shimmering—interrupting, cajoling, avoiding the questions asked and the statistics presented, going through his menu of canned ad hominem zingers to fixate on abortion, LGBTQ2+ advocacies, and the usual leftwing cultural revolution boilerplate.
But De Santis in workmanlike fashion kept pressing him on the facts, even if at times in the first half hour he seemed overwhelmed by the usual slick antics and alternate-realty facts of Newsom who appeared as if he stepped right out of some metrosexual TV ad.
In Newsom’s alternate world, California has almost solved the homeless problem. Oil companies, uniquely in America, single out and undermine the state and so alone cause its sky-high gas and power prices. Illegal immigration is mostly a matter of empathy for the oppressed. California’s Covid shutdown merely ‘followed the science’. Taxes are not that bad. Crime is no problem, and the California mass exodus in just normal state out/in migration. All these mythologies were delivered by a confident, snarky, and cocky in-your-face Newsom, who in that regard offered a stark contrast with the shaky Joe Biden.
But after 30 minutes or so, the Newsom firecracker sort off sizzled out, still loud but increasingly predictably empty of content. De Santis’s adherence to facts finally wore down and overwhelmed Newsom’s ability—or anyone’s ability—to turn the highest taxed, home to the most homeless, rising crime, poor education, and most expensive gas and power continental state into some sort of beneficiary of Joe Biden’s brilliant economic agenda at work.
In Newsom’s defense who would be so audacious—or shameless?—to sell the country on the California catastrophe as a national blueprint for us all? Newsom loyally wore the indefensible record of the Biden-Harris albatross around his neck to the surreal extent of vouching for Biden’s impressive cognitive clarity and mental robustness at 80.
At that moment, some of us probably gave Newsom a few points for his sheer roguery since he seemed to mouth assertions about Biden’s haleness that were not only not true but quite impossible to be taken as true by any sane person— a fact known to him no doubt as well.
I want to leave Matthew Perry’s own words here as the way we remember him. There will never be another like him- he lit up so many hearts in so many ways. Godspeed to Paradise!
Such a kind soul and a terrific talent.
You are missed beyond words, my friend. My heart just breaks today. Thank you for everything.
Sending all my love to the McCallum family.
