I can almost picture the notary sounding like the bishop from The Princess Bride:
"Wubwics, who needs wubwics? We weceive ouw mandate fwom etewnal twadition."
A little while ago you were saying nothing contrary to us, now you even begin to say something in our favor.
For this proposition of yours binds you to as much as this, that if you shall fail today to convict us, with whom you are arguing, of being traditors and murderers, and anything else with which you charge us, you will then be wholly powerless to hurt us by any charge of the kind which you may prove against those who have gone before us.
For we cannot be the sons of those to whose deedsour actions bear no resemblance. And see to what you have committed yourself. If you should be so successful as to convict some man, even of our own times, and living with us, of any guilt of the kind, that is in no way to the prejudice of all the nations of the earth who are blessed in the seed of Abraham, by separating yourself from whom you are found to be guilty of sacrilege.
Accordingly, unless (as is altogether impossible) you are acquainted with all men that exist throughout the world, and have not only made yourself familiar with all their characters and deeds, but have also proved that they are as bad as you describe, you have no ground for reproaching all the world, which is among the saints, with parentage of I know not what description, to whom you prove that they are like.
Nor will it help you at all, even if you are able to show that those who are not of the same character take the holy sacraments in common with those who are. In the first place, because you ought yourselves to look at those with whom you celebrate those sacraments, to whom you give them, from whom you receive them, and whom you would be unwilling to have cast up against you as a reproach.
And again, if all those are the sons of Judas, who was the devilamong the apostles, who imitate his deeds, why do we not call those of the sons of the apostleswho make such men partakers, not in their own deeds, but in the sacraments of the Lord, as the apostles partook of the supper of the Lord in company with that traitor?
And in this way they are very different from you, who cast in the teeth of men who are striving for the preservation of unity the very thing that you do to the rending asunder of unity.
— St Augustine, Answer to Petilian the Donatist (II, 11.26)
If this doesn't stand out as a clear sign the SSPX sees itself as a parallel Church--nothing will.
This is how schismatics talk about Holy Mother Church.
I was an 8th grade boarding student at the SSPX's school St Marys Academy in 1988 when Archbishop Lebvre reneged on the agreement to restore unity.
Rome agreed to give him permission to Consecrate a bishop. When he returned Econe he flip flopped and announced he was going to consecrate four men to the episcopate.
From that day forward, the SSPX was never the same. It was then that I first sensed the bitter zeal of schism that consumed them.
The SSPX didn't just go into schism. They've been there for 38 years. They just tried to hide it from outsiders.
I've written a book about my life in the SSPX. Come and see.

I knew Michael Goldade and his family when I was a boarding student at St. Marys Academy. He is a product of Lefebvrism who knows nothing but the twisted worldview of the SSPX that teaches its children that the Church is defective--which is a heresy. By the grace of God I know the Church is not a desert. I hope one day this people will discover that truth too--before it is too late.

New SSPX bishop +Michael Goldade preaching at Vespers:
If the Catholic Church in her Tradition brings forth life, the modernist church is a desert that kills everything that it touches
It kills the supernatural life, the sources of grace & has placed man in the place of God.
That's a sophisticated Ad Hominem fallacy you got there, Leo.
Should I talk about how the Headmaster at St. Marys Academy promoted Hitler and the Nazis?
Should I bring up that he has been alleged by multiple sources that he raped my classmate who committed suicide?
Should I bring up the connection between the OKC bombing and St. Marys? Did you know that Tim McVeigh was seen in St. Marys chapel on Easter Sunday just four days before he bombed the Murrah building?
If you're going to come at me, you ought to come prepared brother.
@BenedictSwiss@bronzpodcast You're not helping your argument. I attend the SSPX flagship school, St. Marys Academy. They most certainly taught (implicitly), the Church is defective.
What in the world are you talking about?
I'll quote Goldade, "The Modernist Church is like a desert. It kills everything that it touches."
Having grown up and having been trained by the SSPX, I can tell you exactly what this means.
It means the the "Vatican II" Church is a "modernist" Church, a "false" Church and the true Church is in the SSPX.
To boil it down, the visible Church of 1.3 billion Catholics are all in error, not only slightly but gravely. There is no sanctifying grace in it.
THAT, brother is defective. AND IT IS A LIE.
I firmly believe God is far more merciful than we give him credit for. I know there are many good priests and people in the SSPX that just want to serve the Lord.
My concern is that Jesus' least favorite people were the Pharisees and the SSPX has a knack for producing some of the finest Pharisees.
No, John. There are serious problems in the Church.
However, these problems do not justify what the SSPX has done.
I grew up in this world. They are lying to themselves and their followers and it leads many to great sorrow. I know from first hand experience.
I believe God has ordained things so for me to share this story to warn the world.
