Washington State has consistently underfunded wildfire prevention (because that wouldn’t fit the narrative of Climate Changed Caused infernos).

They deliberately mismanaged our forests and only recently years when people began demanding more, did the state finally start increasing funding.

Again, the wildfires in Washington are getting worse because of man-made conditions- keeping our forests as tinderboxes rather than clearing brush and logging.
