Tomorrow is the last day to register to vote.
It’s important every member of our Armed Forces communities has their voice heard - remember there are ways for you to vote whether you’re serving at home or overseas. 1/5
Not only did Rishi Sunak bail out of the D-Day commemorations early, today we learn that he never planned to go in the first place.
This is a government without standards, without respect, without integrity. It’s time for change.

Kevan, thank you for 23 years of service to your constituents, as Minister of Defence, and for your tireless campaigning on issues like Horizon.
I’m grateful for your long support of me and the integral role you’ve played in changing our Party. My best wishes for your treatment.
Like it or not, Defence will be a 1st focus for whoever wins UK election. Within 4 days, they’ll need to attend the most significant NATO summit in decades in Washington DC. On agenda:
-Deterring Russia, China
-Supporting Ukraine
-Convincing Donald Trump NATO is value for money…
Two thirds of recruitment offices shut and hiring targets missed by Ministers ever year since 2010.
These figures are the latest proof of the Tories’ total failure in Armed Forces recruitment.
Labour will ensure Britain is better defended.

The Tory's record on defence?
❌ Never matched Labour defence spending levels
❌ "Hollowed out" the Armed Forces
❌ Created a recruitment crisis
❌ Cut the British Army
❌ Wasted over £15bn in bad procurement
❌ Overseen plummeting morale

EXCLUSIVE: The government has no national plan for the defence of the UK or the mobilisation of its people and industry in a war despite renewed threats of conflict, @SkyNews has learnt. 🧵/1

The UK is united for Ukraine and against Russian aggression.
In recent days we’ve seen multiple Russian missile, drone and airstrikes on Ukrainian cities.
The Government must move beyond stop-start military aid and step up support now.
Since the last election we've had:
Five Chancellors
Four Foreign Secretaries
Three Prime Ministers
Two Defence Secretaries
But only one Armed Forces Minister.
He has been a rare constant in the turmoil of Government. Totally committed to defence and Labour thanks him for this.
This is unfortunately far too common in military housing.
The CoC have always been limited in what they can do - this is a structural problem that politicians must fix. The Tories have failed to address this, Labour will. @labourforces
Hi Alfie,
This is currently the state of our bathroom. It’s absolutely mortifying and embarrassing sharing this with you, however we haven’t been left with much choice. The mould itself has been a problem since we moved in 2.5 years ago, we reported under Amey a few times before pinnacle took over but they completely ignored us so we gave up and had it under control for a while… over the winter the mould grew back uncontrollably (the smears on the ceiling are from where we were keeping on top of it until it became impossible). On the 22nd January I had to phone pinnacle to report a leak coming from our bathroom into the kitchen so reported the mould again as well. (PS I am asthmatic which we have told them from the start)
Thankfully they sent someone about the leak the same day as the water is dripping down really closely to the kitchen light and near plug sockets in the kitchen. He ordered new parts for the bath and we ARE STILL WAITING NOW!?! This was the 22nd January!! We haven’t been able to use our shower since (as instructed by the engineer) as we’re worried the ceiling kitchen will come through (please see photo of crack in ceiling). I have phoned to chase the issue every day until the last week or so and the case has been passed onto various managers of pinnacle including the complaints manager. Yet here we still are with absolutely no progress made on the mould and still unable to use our shower. I am constantly waiting in the house for appointments that either Vivo don’t turn up to, can’t fix when they do get here, refuse to fix until the mould is sorted or they just don’t tell us about the appointment at all so when someone does arrive nobody is in the house to let them in.
I’m sorry to have contacted you about this but I’m really at a loss of who else I can go to? I will be sending this same message into an email to Pinnacle and copying Environmental health and the local MP into it too as I feel I have been left with no choice.
Urgent Question on armed forces @HouseofCommons happening now
@JohnHealey_MP lays out dire state of defence + makes a party-political point: "Where is the plan for better defending Britain because it's clear our armed forces can't afford another 5 years of Conservative government?"
https://t.co/O2kknG90rD
Since 2010, the Tories have:
❌'Hollowed out' our Armed Forces.
❌Cut the Army to its smallest size since Napoleon.
❌Missed recruitment targets every year.
❌Caused morale to fall to record lows.
Our Armed Forces cannot afford another five years of Conservative government.
This is... disgusting. Since when was it Conservative values to denigrate our war heroes?
2.5 million Muslim soldiers served with the allied forces in WWII and thousands gave their lives defending democracy.
Hunt is right to support the memorial. These MPs should be ashamed.
We sit at a critical time for the armed forces given the dire financial position the MoD is in. @JohnHealey_MP is correctly asking big questions that must be answered.
With the current state of global instability, Labour represents Britain’s best hope.
Also confirmed:
• Urgent question from @JohnHealey_MP: "To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the state of the UK Armed Forces."
