"Ask not what you should do for Google Search.
Ask what you should do for your audience."
What is this? Well, I've spoken with & enjoyed getting feedback from creators in person and through social over the past two weeks. Next week, I'll be doing three more in-person events. One thing I'm trying to improve on is explaining the need to do things for people rather than Google.
I'm looking for an easy-to-remember line. Really, it should be more like this:
"When it comes to content, ask not what you should do for Google Search. Ask what you should do for your audience."
That's because there are some key technical things that Google (or other search engines) do need. But when it comes to content, people-first is the right approach. As always, our guidance on this is here:

So many of the questions I've been asked recently begin with "Should I do this for Google...." The answer is always "You should do things for you audience."
Do things for your audience. Don't ask what you should be doing for content for Google. Ask if what you're doing is to benefit your audience. Thatโs the right path.
Any ideas on how to better communicate this in a sentence or two?
