🇲🇦 Je profite de ces événement à l’ONU pour vous parler d’une chose que j’ai découverte récemment
La Russie déploie des campagnes de publicité au Maroc pour recruter des jeunes et les envoyer mourir en Ukraine.

It is, once again, a very sad day for Russian independent journalism. To clear up any confusion: Novaya Gazeta Europe, founded in exile by Novaya Gazeta journalists in 2022, is not closing. We’re still here and still reporting.
A few days in Tbilisi, where I had the opportunity to take part in a study day and share some of my research. Really interesting discussions and a great opportunity to exchange perspectives with researchers working on the Caucasus!
🚨 The existence of an organized jama’ah of resistants is confirmed by NIYSO :
"Tomorrow, we will publish a textual call from the Amir of one of the groups of mujahiddîn in occupied Chechnya. Don’t forget to include them in your du’a."
This is historical.
Shaykh Mansur battalion published a long video on YouTube where they give the floor to ex-Akhmat soldiers taken prisoner, as well as individual videos of them on telegram. The prisoners talk about their combat conditions and call on Enlisted Chechens to desert the Russian army.
Methodological reminder: given the information blockade and the repression of independent journalism in Chechnya, most of the informations coming from Chechnya that I comment on and work on, comes from either NIYSO’s posts or official state sources.
🚨 NIYSO just reported that the uprising is led by 30 mujahiddîn. Whole Chechnya is under maximal alert.
The info comes from contacts from within the regime’s employees.
For the past few minutes, NIYSO has been reporting a massive concentration of Russian forces in the streets of Grozny, Gudermes, and Kurchaloy. Gunfire has also been reported.
Something potentially serious is unfolding within the regime’s power structures

8/ @niyso_eng has become one of the very few actors providing a recurrent flow of information from inside Chechnya. Its channels collect testimonies on abductions, forced recruitment and pressure on families, giving rare access to cases inside the republic.
1/ What does forced mobilisation for Russia’s war in Ukraine look like in Chechnya? A testimony recently published by @niyso_eng gives a rare glimpse into a system where abductions, pressure and coerced military contracts have become part of everyday life.
7/ The information gap is central to understanding Chechnya. Journalists, human rights defenders, victims and relatives operate under intense pressure. Fear and repression shape what reaches the public domain and determine which cases ever become visible outside the republic.
