Huge thank you to Minister Kinnock for joining us at our #DementiaActionWeek reception at Speaker’s House, and taking the time to speak with Karen who shared her lived experience. In particular loved the Ministers on brand forget-me-not tie!
GP practices are patient data protectors
The new Health Bill will remove the GP & move the data controller (protector) role to the Secretary of State for Health
Your sharing data ‘opt-out’ may not be protected in the same way
I have ‘opted out’ but doesn’t stop sharing data

@RE_McGEE If your spatial awareness plays tricks on your inner vestibular self the conflict within yourself, invisible to the world, makes the seamingly easy process of controlling yourself and a bicycle a challenge. Smooth grassed areas to ride on can aid confidence and reduce tyre noise.
@PaulaMc007 What tier of training do they do I imagine its simply a couple of hours online and not the full training. So many ‘professionals’ have told me theyve undertaken the training but only the online version Which is excellent but dilutes the knowledge needed to help keep us safe.
It is because of these attitudes Autistic persons need a piece of paper detailing their evidence based diagnosis and support required to enjoy a full filled life. #invisabledisabilities
Not the case.
It is not helpful and actually detrimental to apply a diagnosis of autism to young people (who clearly have potential to function as independent young adults) w separate behavioral health conditions impeding that person…
…and it is a shame to label them as such.
Such labels create dependency and stigmatize the young person rather than focusing on actions to help cope while creating a path to success.
The data is guiding Ida Firth and other clinicians to question seriously the past (stigma) and call out the need to examine and rethink diagnostic guidelines which all should welcome.
This is Ollie. Most doggos just nap and beg for snacks. This fawn guy? Crushes 30+ tricks on voice command alone, fetches stuff from drawers, rolls like a champ, even nails a salute. Smartest dog ever

Miller has worked for decades to solve this medical mystery. She thinks she has an answer. Her theory? It has to do with mast cells, a type of white blood cell present throughout the body which releases mediators like histamine. Could those cells be overreactive in those with CI?
