Nah. 27-33 aren't your humbling years. They're your awakening years.
So many people misunderstand this phase of life.
That's when you start seeing things clearly. Everything suddenly dawns on you. You realize what you want, what doesn't matter, and how much time you've wasted.
Some people mistake that clarity for failure because they wish they had figured it out earlier.
But if you're determined, you can build more in those few years than you did in your entire early twenties.
If you’ve never invested in stocks before here is a starting point: (Please retweet for a friend)
Open a stocks and shares ISA on https://t.co/gFU19qJ5KX, then set up something called regular investing via a direct debit into “Vanguard Funds Plc S&P 500 UCITS ETF USD ACC (GBP) (VUAG)” after putting in an initial lump sum that will get you started in the mean time. Neuroplasticity exists. If you don't like your life or career as an adult you can just learn new things. As long as you aren't an idiot and plan things long term, you can try your hand at pretty much anything that doesn't require the body of a teenager / early 20s athleticism.
Viola Davis has spoken about how ignoring her creative calling affected her mental health. it highlights something important: when you consistently deny a core part of yourself, it doesn’t just disappear quietly.
Interrogate everything you see in mass media. In fact start from the fundamental understanding that it is a lie and search for the truth.
In this day and age its the only way to keep your mind sharp. You have to fight for it.
You’re praying to be a millionaire or for financial freedom but you aren’t doing the work/learning to ensure you can manage it. Why should God answer your prayer? Remember God doesn’t put you in a situation you can’t handle weelllp
Savings is a test of stewardship. Investing literacy is key. The man who buried the money lost money due to inflation and you’re in the same boat if you are hoarding cash. Save, learn, invest.
Happy Sunday
My favorite quote from Atomic Habits by James Clear:
"It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it.
If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire.
To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment."
The older you get, the more you realize luck is just exposure.
If you sit in the same chair, same routine, talking to same people… nothing new happens.
You have to touch the world to win.
• Talk to strangers
• try a new coffee spot
• post on social
• Start a side hustle
The world rewards motion.
You don’t find opportunity sitting still.
You bump into it.
We are overstimulated and we don't even notice. Netflix while eating. Reels in the bathroom. Music while cooking. Podcasts on walks. We consume by default, not by intention. You keep filling every gap, then wonder why you feel foggy and unmotivated.
Boredom and silence are the real growth drivers. They give you space to think and create. That's when solutions show up for problems that have been stuck for months. Leave some room.
