I know people complain on the internet a lot, so I just want to say that @united flight and crew of UA1422 from IND-> DEN today were wonderful from start to finish.
So fortunate to have so many incredible Teacher Leaders @NobWestMS sharing their passions and expertise on this elearning day- and so many Teacher Learners continually exploring how to better serve students! @NobSchools
I realize I’m biased because I was one of those nerdy kids who was excited to get a rock tumbler for Christmas in the 80s but I just watched @emilycrapnell 7th graders make learning about rocks/rock cycle so AMAZING! Mx. Crapnell created an amazing play and soundtrack.
I’ve been thinking about how we can acknowledge the challenging work of being an educator while focusing on student needs, not what’s convenient & comfortable for adults. Sometimes what’s best for students isn’t what’s easiest. How do we do that w/out Ts feeling more beat down?
After our all staff session, it was great to see & hear our NWMS teachers digging into strategies to support MLLs, restorative practices in the classroom, New Quizzes in Canvas, & getting NF texts in the hands our our students! Thankful for people willing to lead & contribute!
We have been sharing video highlights of each school's Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to Boone Meadow Elementary School Teacher of the Year Cindi Hamlow! #zcsstrong

2 days ago ESPN produced a segment called ‘Caitlin Clark: Queen of Clap Backs 👑’. The focus; her clapping, “You’re down 15 points. Shut up,” and of course the “you can’t see me” hand wave.
Her “trash talk” was embraced and celebrated. It wasn’t stigmatized and pathologized.
I don’t know many people in the Twitterverse, but I know people who know lots of people 😆 I would love 2find some middle schools that have great #MTSS in place. Any recommendations? Supporting academic needs but also social/emotional, mental health, executive function, etc?
The 'behaviour crisis'
I too have seen a post COVID deterioration in behaviour in schools (particularly secondary).
My thoughts and some strategies/mindsets I have found useful...

The primary job of parents isn't to make kids happy or successful. It's to build their character.
Nurturing character isn't limited to instilling our values. We should also encourage kids to define their own values.
True success is preparing our kids to decide who they become.
Lots of great discussion and learning on this e-day @NobWestMS! Great sessions on supporting our EL students, choice boards for engagement, literacy practices, and trusting students to be leaders in their own learning.
The @NobSchools middle school science teachers did some tough but exciting work with the new science standards during today’s e-day. Looking forward to digging in even more!
