In transgender folk, brain scans show brains similar to their gender identity, regardless of biological sex. So a transman (FTM)’s brain looks like a male brain. Neuroscience is amazing.

True non-binary hermaphroditic animals do exist, but in animals with less complicated systems that can support both male & female sex characteristics.

@mollistan @messrsmooney @jk_rowling Also, they’re only sex-specific conditions based on our current understanding of genetics. Phrenology was also widely accepted, as was the theory that babies & black people didn’t feel pain. That’s what’s great about science. It gets better as it learns more.
