Spare a thought for Arthur Tudor who died on this day in 1502. His loss was a heavy blow & changed the course of the #Tudor regime (with brother @KngHnryVIII getting the top job in 1509 instead) . What impact would King Arthur I have made by 1550? #OTD@tonyriches@NathenAmin
16 March 1485 Death of Anne Neville, Queen Consort to Richard III, aged 28. She had lost her only child the previous year and the total eclipse of the sun that marked the day of her death was seen as a bad omen for her husband’s rule. He would not see the end of the year either.
Also #onthisday in history, the execution of George, Duke of Clarence took place. How much was real and how much has been made up. #Plantagenets#HistoryToday

#Onthisday in 1516, Mary I of England was born. She wasn't an instant disappointment, as girls were extremely important in political relationships in the past. Here's a look at her birth and what it meant. #OTD#Tudors

As it's the anniversary of Henry VIII's death, I thought I'd share this piece about the show #TheTudors. It ended with the death of Henry VIII, despite there being three #Tudors after him. Why couldn't the show have continued?

There are two major #Tudors events that happened #onthisday. The first was the birth of the man who brought about the beginning of the dynasty. Henry Tudor, later King Henry VII of England, was born to Margaret Beaufort and the deceased Edmund Tudor.
