Social Media is the devil’s playground, don’t hide behind a screen and objectify others, forgetting they are humans like yourself. You don’t know the internal struggles of others, please be kind and empathetic before passing judgement. #MentalHealthMatters#MentalHealthIsNoJoke
@renoomokri You seem to be disconnected from the reality and the struggles faced by the ordinary citizens of Nigeria. The people have been making sacrifices since 1900! There's nothing left to sacrifice but their well-being. Please show empathy and speak the truth.
@duchessofpoms I think people will now understand what Harry meant when he said “My father and brother are trapped..” they all secretly want what Harry did, but unfortunately, “they don’t get to leave”🧐
I turned 25 today. It was my “plan” to be married by 22 and have my first child by 25, but here I am—single for over 8 years. I have always prayed to the Lord about becoming a wife and I’ve been praying for my future husband since I was a child. So I’ve wondered: Have I missed something? Has God forgotten me? Absolutely not.
I prayed a very specific prayer related to becoming a wife around 18 and God has remained faithful in answering it; I credit Him for protecting me from situations that I have no idea I could’ve been apart of had I not prayed that specific prayer.
I’ve spent my singleness living my life to the fullest—at least I’ve tried to; I don’t think that I’m doing a horrible job of it. When I was 20, I became a doula. When I was 21, I started my first business. When I was 22, I moved to Spain for 6 months and did a little bit of travel around Europe. I don’t think that I’ve missed something—I think that God is sovereign and has continually protected me in several aspects. He is faithful: that’s who He is.
I think that as Christians, especially Christian singles, we can start freaking out about who we’re going to marry and when, because it’s something that, frankly, we think about all the time. Trust me, I know. It’s especially hard when your friends are getting married and having babies. I attended a lot of weddings last year.
Throughout my early and mid 20s, I’ve learned that I’d rather have God’s protection than my perception of what is best for me. He knows what’s best for me, and it’s greater than my wildest dreams. We have to learn to trust the season that we’re in, but also, we have to learn to be responsible on our own part so that we’re able to steward the gifts that we’ve been praying for.
I never imagined that I’d be single for 8 going on 9 years when I was in high school, but I’m grateful, because God’s hand is all over my life. If you’re single and having a hard time dealing with it and dating seems impossible, know that you’re not alone, and that if you’re obedient to God, if you’re are staying involved in community and if you are waking with Jesus every day, you’re doing the right thing.
Can a woman forget her nursing child,
and not have compassion
on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.

@Tru_Powell a very sad and barbaric attack! Just sad! I’m so angry and I pray the young girl gets a quick recovery, physically, mentally, emotionally and psychologically. 😭😭
@CharleneWhite@theipaper Amazing piece Charlene! Thank you! It’s really very sad indeed.. you and Brenda has 0% resemblance and I don’t get it that some people aren’t bothered to really see the individual personalities and uniqueness in ethnic people thus mistaken identity 😔
