@23MAlyssa@Roger_Chiasson Question and correct me if I’m wrong, I really don’t know. It appears the Save College Sports Act still continues eligibility with graduation as part of it. Should this pass, which rule trumps? NCAA or the Act?
@23MAlyssa@Roger_Chiasson I believe there are some not all colleges that offer PE credit &playing a sport will satisfy credit.I could be wrong but I don’t think so. How does 7/1 age cutoff academic year negatively impact recruiting calendar? At the very least it should be before any sport practice begins.
@Roger_Chiasson@23MAlyssa Not all colleges offer as PE credit but many do. Hypothetical. The cutoff should be July 1 which covers all the USA public school cutoff requirements.
@Roger_Chiasson@23MAlyssa Disaster if based on class start dates. I’d like to think a universal date must be set otherwise there is room for interpretation
and there is international. They should be held to the same rules and timelines for everything, but will they be?
@Roger_Chiasson@23MAlyssa Is this cutoff confirmed? I was informed it’s the first day class begins. Makes no sense and will be a complete disaster but that is what was posted in a reply on Instagram by the person who did the q&a. It also needs to be clear what rules international follow.
@JrHockeyTruth@BingoBongom6ae It does very little. What about the kids that graduate at 18 & turn 19 in July, August &so on. It should be no later than the year you turn 20you enroll that same year in the fall & clock starts. Kids finish at 24. Also minimum age 18 required to play sports absolutely NECESSARY!
@NILnotNLI Why the hell is the govt involved! The govt hasn’t been able to run a successful business in how long. They just screw things up worse! It’s a damn circus
@CoachBeede The biggest question is what date constitutes the “beginning of the academic year?”The day class starts is beyond stupid. You will have massive problems with birthdays in August and September if someone changes schools. In one state it starts August 15th and another September 3.
@tedcruz@CoachHuff Additionally under no circumstance should any and all contracts having anything to do with (to include but not limited to) college or college sports, NIL, revenue share etc. be signed until the day after the athlete turns 18.
@NILnotNLI NCAA should require all athletes be minimum 18 prior to start of academic year, eligibility starting at enrollment or first academic year after 19 BDAY with both having same universal start date June 1 but no later than July 1 as 7/1 covers all U.S. High school start dates.
@tedcruz@CoachHuff NCAA & Govt should require athletes be minimum 18 years of age (legal adult) before the start of academic year & eligibility clock starts at enrollment or first academic year after 19 BDAY with the universale date of 6/1 (summer school)or 7/1 which covers all US high start dates.
@tedcruz@CoachHuff First- ALL international should be held to the exact same NCAA rules and eligibility requirements as U.S. kids prior to college and there after! They should also be held to the exact same college admissions requirements! Countries can adjust or not participate!
@Coverman72 Agree. Additionally why are they not requiring the same eligibility rules and college admission rules for international that they are for US?
@NCAA_PR What date does NCAA consider “the beginning of academic year?”
NCAA should make a rule requiring ALL college athletes minimum age 18 or 18.5 and maximum 19 or 19.5 before the start of Academic Year with one universal start date. The rule shall apply to all including international.
@SchlossmanGF Implement a national and international tracking system that tracks full time enrollment in high school and documents all circumstances. International schools that do not want to comply then kids from that school don’t attend don’t attend US college.
@SchlossmanGF Minimize exceptions, without legitimate exceptions, force parents to provide documented proof by doctor specialists providing the academic need to reclass. The full 4 years would be on a full year basis. Example Aug1-Jul31. It would depend on start date. Implement a national …
