@23MAlyssa@CHN_AdamWodon Sorry for the typos! I saw your bio and I have a data idea for the hockey community that I donโt think has been integrated into analytics community yet. DM me if you want to discuss.
@23MAlyssa@CHN_AdamWodon I really lies to your other reply using your 8/1 clarification for implications for junior ๐ minded folks where eligibility is calendar year based. This will matter to that community.
@23MAlyssa Thanks. Very clear now. For junior ๐ folks used to calendar year all U20 19 year olds born 1/1-8/1 seeking 5 for 5 canโt play their age 19 season. The 9/2-12/31 cohort can.
@MikeMcMahonCHN Mike - is it accurate to say with this news that if you are U20 eligible freshman year you get 5 for 5 (like WJC eligibility). So all 2007s enrolling this year get 5 years? Or can a late 2007 born after the start of the academic year actually enroll in 27-28 and have 5 for 5?
@StephRDSJunior@Sebhockey24@CharlesAnt56105 In baseball if you hit 0.350 in A ball and bat 4th in the order, you get moved to AA to hit 6th and face older/better pitching and defense vs trying to hit 0.400 in A ball. It's all about development and many players are making the decision to move to AA (NCAA) now vs waiting.
@603Chief@SchlossmanGF "playing by the rules" hoping to get an offer at 20/21 was unlikely to happen regardless of new rules. Coaches gladly took best 18 yo, told all tweeners to do 2-3 junior and everyone played along. CHL recruits now 40% of NCAA commits and that reality has yet to fully sink in.
@barnmuckin@vichrodrigues@1n5ertNam3@BrockOtten Stop repeatedly being an a-hole just because someone disagrees with. Itโs a sign of weakness and a major tell that you have been dummied in a debate and donโt have a leg to stand on.
@barnmuckin@vichrodrigues@1n5ertNam3@BrockOtten Amazing!!! It just flew right over your head didnโt it Chester. Faber is going to be a Top 2/4 D for a decade + on a 8-year $68MM contract. Maybe - just maybe Chester - it truly is about development and not his NCAA stat line.
@barnmuckin@1n5ertNam3@BrockOtten Iโll leave that to Coach Carle. You canโt accept all these players choosing DU for the next phase of their development. I trust the folks involved in those decisions and understand why they made them as they all have eyes on a $100MM+ prize. But hey you know better.
@vichrodrigues@barnmuckin@1n5ertNam3@BrockOtten Bingo. Ryan McDonagh another great example. Top 4 D for 15 years with PP2 early in his career. Reminds me of Daneyko v Lou story when he wanted PP time. Lou said every team is like a band and asked Dani is - long term - he was a better singer or drummer. He chose the drums.
@dylan_lukinchuk@pwrguy2001@BCHL_Alberta I donโt know all the rules by league but min 18 in SUI where AM34 played. More could but seems like NA options preferable to NA players.
