In our law firm, 25th June is a holiday, and we call it Remembrance Day internally, for all the people we lost to senseless police violence in the Finance Bill protests.
BUSIA’S VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRES ARE DYING. OUR YOUTH ARE PAYING THE PRICE.
A few kilometres from my home in Kwangamor Village stands Okisimo Vocational Training Centre in Amukura East Ward. Once a beacon of hope for young people seeking skills and a pathway to self-reliance, it now sits silent and abandoned.
During the Senate Mashinani sittings in Busia last year October, the @040County Government publicly committed to reopening the institution by January 2026 and completing the stalled construction works. Today, that promise remains unfulfilled. The centre is still closed and the projects remain incomplete.
Sadly, Okisimo is not an isolated case.
Across Busia County, several Vocational Training Centres are struggling with inadequate infrastructure, stalled development projects, poorly equipped workshops, and limited learning resources. As a result, many young people are being denied access to the skills they need to secure livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to our economy.
Vocational training is not a luxury. It is one of the most effective tools for tackling unemployment, creating opportunities, and empowering young people with practical skills. When VTCs are neglected, it is our youth and their families who bear the cost.
The County Government must act with urgency. Complete stalled projects. Equip workshops. Support and promote instructors. Reopen dormant centres. Above all, honour the commitments made to the people of Busia.
I also urge the Busia County Assembly, particularly the Committee on Education and Vocational Training, to exercise its oversight role and follow up on this matter to ensure a lasting solution.
Our youth deserve opportunities, not excuses.
I will continue to demand accountability until every Vocational Training Centre in Busia is functional, adequately equipped, and serving the purpose for which it was established.
If you’re in Kenya and the only qualities you want to see in an aspirant are charisma and aura, you deserve Ruto a million times and all the tragedies that come with bad governance
18 staff members of the medical charity organization, Doctors Without Borders, have been dismissed for sexual abuse and exploitation of Sudanese refugees escaping war in Al fashir, Sudan.
Aid, food, milk and jobs were exchanged for sex, sometimes, the targets being underage girls.
The people who claim to protect and care, often, prey on the vulnerable.
To all members of the Kenyan parliament.
Do not dare pass the Finance Bill 2026.
It is punitive and exploitative.
We reject it entirely.
Sincerely,
Kenyans.
“Young people, in 2027 do not change the monkeys and keep the forest. You must get rid of the regime entirely. I have seen today that change in Kenya is possible because young people have not given up”- Hon. Wilberforce Oundo, MP Funyula Constituency and Member of Linda Mwananchi #Maraga27 #UGMParty
David Maraga: I have never been associated with any corruption scandal. I am ready to declare on oath, my assets and give a full account of how I acquired each piece. I challenge every presidential aspirant, starting with Ruto, to do the same and account for everything they own.

They've been shocked seeing elected Members of Parliament supporting HE. David Maraga. They've started to send their barking dogs like Diano to attack and deplatform his excellency on digital platform.
