Accessibility | This week is National AccessAbility Week!
AccessAbility Week is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements, contributions, and leadership of persons with disabilities, while recognizing the individuals, organizations, and workplaces that help create a more accessible and inclusive Canada.
This year's theme is "Building a Strong, Accessible Canada," reminding us that we all benefit when everyone has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential.
As #NIHM2026 continues, keep an eye on on this space as we continue to share resources and information. Ready to get started? Check the links in our bio for our reading list, and information from The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. (3/3)
June is National Indigenous History Month! First declared in 2009, it’s a time to celebrate the heritage, history, and diversity of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people who have lived on the land that we call Canada for tens of thousands of years. (1/3)
#NIHM2026 is also a time to reaffirm our commitment to truth and reconciliation, and to the 94 calls to action made by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 2015. You can find the 94 Calls at the link in our bio and posted here in the Library. (2/3)
Happy Friday, and Happy Long Weekend! The Library and will close at 12:00 pm today, and we'll re-open on Tuesday, May 19. Still need to get some work done - or want something to read or watch just for fun? https://t.co/ZgQhVYdAdw is available 24/7. Have a great weekend, everyone!
An important update for any of our students or colleagues who use transit - especially if you catch the bus at the Pioneer building. cc: @LoyalistCollege
Transit | The following Belleville Transit route adjustments will come into effect this Monday, May 4. 🚌:
➡️ Routes 3 and 4 will service the main loop at Loyalist College. The Pioneer Building will no longer be serviced.
➡️ Routes 5A and 5B will no longer travel along Bleecker Avenue between Bridge Street East and Victoria Avenue. Buses will instead use MacDonald Avenue between these streets. No bus stops will be affected by this change.
➡️ The bus stop near the Walmart entrance will be removed from service. Temporarily, the only active stop in the area will be on Millennium Parkway in front of the boulevard near St. Louis Bar & Grill until a new stop and shelter are constructed further along the boulevard.
These changes are being implemented to improve service efficiency and accommodate operational needs.
