Our Support Assistant Miss MacDonald has created a great display on the 1970s and 1980s for the Library. Seems like yesterday to our Librarian Mr Clarkson
We are looking forward to welcoming unto school on Tuesday 28th November YA author @ThatDannyWeston who will be talking to our third year about his new novel Postcards From Valhalla. With @TAEnglishDept
Some photos from our author event with the fantastic @KayvionLewis last week. She took part in a Q +A, read an extract from her book 'Thieves' Gambit', signed copies of it and also did an interview for Teen Titles with three of our third year pupils.
We were very pleased to welcome @KayvionLewis this morning to discuss her new novel 'Thieves Gambit' with a Q+A and book signing, as well as an interview which will soon be published in Teen Titles!
We were delighted to see @Booktrust's #LifeChangingLibraries campaign summarising the positive impact of school libraries on 4 key areas...
1️⃣ Reading engagement
2️⃣ Learning behaviours
3️⃣ Learning provision
4️⃣ Wellbeing
That's why every school needs a library! ✨
Another fantastic (and sunny!) morning at the @edbookfest, this time to hear from some of the authors nominated for the YA Book Prize 2022. We even got our hands on free copies to be signed by the authors themselves. We, and our library, are very grateful 📚 🌟 @TrinityAc_Edin
Excellent day out at @edbookfest , getting to know the wonderful book ‘Where Shadows Fall’ by @SitaBrahmachari and Natalie Sirett and trying our hand at some illustration ourselves! @TrinityAc_Edin
We welcomed @STVNews and reporter @gordonchree this morning; interviewing our pupils for this evenings 6pm news: Young people’s views on the removal of mandatory face coverings in Scottish Secondary schools. Well done to our amazing pupils who took part #CEC
It's #ChildrenMentalHealthWeek and we have lots of both fiction and information books on mental health issues in the library. Come along to check out some books and see what selection we have.
Looks like it will be a while yet before authors can visit schools in person. But remember, by now, most off us have an awfful lot of experience doing things online! If you would like a visit from me, don't hesitate to get in touch
