You don’t know Eritrea — not really.
You know the name, maybe the flag, maybe the year: 1993.
But Eritrea is not just independence.
Eritrea is an idea — and that idea scared the world.

Eritrea believed in something Africa had almost forgotten:
Self-reliance. Dignity. Total freedom.
Not just freedom from a colonizer’s flag —
But freedom from dependency,
From foreign aid traps,
From neocolonial politics wearing African suits.

From the moment she was born, Eritrea stood alone.
Not because she wanted isolation,
But because she refused to kneel.
The global system said,
“Be quiet, take the aid, follow the script.”
Eritrea said:
“We write our own script — in blood, in sweat, in silence if we must.”

They shut her out.
Sanctions. Lies. Pressure.
But Eritrea didn’t collapse — she stood still.
Built with what she had.
Disciplined her youth.
Planted crops, trained soldiers, and said:
“If we do not rely on ourselves, we will not survive.”

Other African states laughed or stayed quiet.
But deep down, they watched.
Because Eritrea was doing what they feared:
Breaking the cycle.
The cycle of begging.
The cycle of being told who to vote for, how to govern, what to sign.

Yes, Eritrea is not perfect.
But no nation born from war is.
Her journey is hard.
Her voice is not loud.
But her spine is unbreakable.

Africa, you say “unity.”
Eritrea says, “Let it be real — based on respect.”
Don’t unite through slogans while selling your land.
Don’t praise democracy while letting outsiders write your laws.

Eritrea says:
“If we are to rise, it must be on our own feet — together, or alone.”

So Africa, before you judge her —
Before you repeat what foreign news says —
Ask yourself:
Who benefits from silencing a country that teaches independence?
Who fears a small nation with a big heart and no leash?

Eritrea is not hiding.
She is protecting something.
Protecting the idea that Africa can be strong without begging.
That we can build from the ground up.
That our heroes didn’t die for contracts and crumbs —
They died for sovereignty.

You don’t know Eritrea…
But if you love Africa,
If you truly love your people,
Then it’s time you learn.

President Isaias Afwerki and Sudan's Chairman of the Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, held extensive talks at State House, in the early afternoon hours today, on the consolidation of the warm bilateral ties between the two countries as well as current regional/geopolitical matters.

President Isaias re-iterated Eritrea's firm and principled stance on the tragic conflict that has and continues to afflict Sudan in the recent period. He also underlined Eritrea's conviction that the problem in Sudan can only be resolved through the efforts of the Sudanese themselves with the support of friendly neighbouring countries.

In a press statement to the Eritrean News Agency, General al-Burhan expressed his gratitude to the people and Government of Eritrea for their support at a critical time when Sudan is grappling with enormous difficulties.

General al-Burhan also stressed Sudan's readiness and goodwill to further deepen the long-standing and solid ties that exist between the two peoples.

General al-Burhan and his delegation departed home in the mid-afternoon hours winding up their fruitful, one-day, working visit.
