Most traditional coders don't understand how to code with AI, and tend not to trust it because of the way they were taught to program.

Developers were taught to do most things upfront; plan the approach, think about the design patterns, write the tests, then implement.

So when they think of AI just writing the code automatically it feels error prone.

But there is a different type of coder, once who rarely writes tests, does not plan much, and most definitely does not care about design patterns. This type of coder can build stable software because they use the actual software relentlessly. The testing does not come from upfront unit functions that confirm deterministic outputs, it comes from the highly adaptive approach of constantly using and changing.

I have rarely seen coders work like this, because they operate as though they can just write it correct the first time (even though they never do).

It is the coder who understands the highly adaptive, liquid approach to getting a faulty piece of software to converge that works well with AI. Not by using better coding knowledge (which sounds nice but is actually quite naive in "complex" systems), but by having relentless dialogue with AI, and using the software every time an addition is made.

It is a process of constant refinement, constant trial and error, and a ton of conversation. Most coders are not prepared for that. They don't get what it means to create something by movement rather than time-tested knowledge.

It takes a different skill than what coders have been told is the "smart" way to do things. And because of this, many are going to be left behind, as a new breed of builder rises to positions of authority.

The new builder is not concerned with code. And they understand that this is in fact the smart, rigorous way to create today's software, because that is what evolution is, and you will never find a better process than evolution. You will never use upfront textbook knowledge to build something better than massive iteration. Never.

I know you think you’re doing something smart and scientific, but you are not. This is the same flawed mindset @bryan_johnson promotes, and laymen always assume it’s super sciency.

Using this procedure for general wellness is reductionist nonsense. It assumes we “know” what is supposed to be in the blood and what isn’t, as if the body is a piece-by-piece assemblage of specific correct parts, rather than a complex emergent system whose components are intimately codependent, and there for a reason.

Examples of this mistake are rife throughout history:

So called “junk” DNA. The appendix…

Glial cells
👉 named “brain glue” for over a century; considered passive scaffolding. Now known to actively shape synaptic connections, regulate neural circuits, and are implicated in cognition and consciousness.

The microbiome
👉 treated as passengers or nuisances for decades, now understood to regulate immunity, metabolism, mood, and even gene expression.

The pattern is always the same: we label something useless because we don’t yet understand its role in the larger system. The body doesn’t carry evolutionary overhead. If something persists, it’s because it’s load-bearing in ways we haven’t mapped yet.

I assure you, (real) scientists do not *know* what is supposed to be in the blood in any precise exacting sense. And other than in definite diseased situations, nature put these things there for a reason.

Even the “but modern society is different because we’re exposed to…” argument doesn’t work. There’s a very high chance your body handles the modern toxins using the elevated pieces you’re having filtered out.

The human body isn’t an automobile, it’s an ecology. Removing a “useless” species always collapses systems in unpredictable ways.
