so instead of "unidentified player" you can write "Thomas Scott" who played for Falkirk over a hundred years ago and it feels better than actually completing the catalogue will feel and then you reward yourself with baklava because you earned it? It's the best.
You know that feeling when you can't figure out who a drawing in your collection is of and you have to cross reference the football players you've already identified that you have pictures of with names from the Falkirk Football Club Hall of Fame online
but that obviously includes historical players that there are essentially no images of online but you manage to find some names that are promising and so you search for any photographs of them and you somehow find one that is a perfect match for one of your pencil sketches
In today's edition of Metadata Capture is these beautiful pencil sketches by Genuine European Portraits, Edinburgh. The name plates have been lost to time, but hopefully someone out there recognises the players @HeritageFalkirk @FFCSupporters@WeAreFalkirk76@Bairnsonline
The first image that would benefit from some crowd-funded knowledge is this pencil sketch by artist I. Walker from 2001. An ID of the men in the picture or the artist would be extremely helpful @HeritageFalkirk @FFCSupporters@WeAreFalkirk76@Bairnsonline@FalkirkFanMedia
Following a lengthy period of being unable to work with the @FalkirkFC archival collection due to conservation issues, it was finally moved to Callendar House for cataloguing work to begin in earnest last month!
@FalkirkFC Though I'm fast becoming the amateur champion of identifying vintage Scottish football strips, there's a very real chance I'm going to need to seek the expertise of the Falkirk FC Twitter fanbase for the occasional hint or ID in future @HeritageFalkirk @FFCSupporters
Paul and me looking grunge and learning from the best; @FalkirkArchives recent reconnaissance mission to the @SFootballMuseum in preparation for cataloguing the Falkirk FC collection. Not pictured; sick post-museum and -rain BLT
Finally beginning work cataloguing the @_BusinessArch grant awarded @FalkirkFC collection this month. Expect much more football chat from a previously non-football gal.
If caught speeding today, use these words. ‘I have the highest regard for the police force, but I think their decision is wrong. Though I will respect it, what’s important now is that I get to my destination as quickly as possible.’
