👀 Visualization of biological data 🧬 is a fundamental technique that enables researchers to understand and explain biology. ✨ Today’s #ELIXIRFridayReads is on Nightingale - a library of #reusable data visualization web components.👇

Happy to have taken part in that really interesting day, a great place to meet like-minded people based around the world in a rare in-person event in Barcelona and to connect with them, helping the whole science and tech community grow.
🚀 #BarcelonaAlumni Global Summit 2022 gathers +300 top scientists and tech experts trained in #Barcelona and now working abroad to foster int'l cooperation, showcase our strengths abroad and help us better understand key global issues.
@ayhanfuat@ricardomatiaspt@observablehq Same here ✋🏼
Kinda thought it was phishing at first, but I just disregarded it, legit or not, because I'm pretty sure they don't have any payment info from me.
Definitely shady method for sure... 🧐
@ELIXIREurope@4ndr01d3 As per previous editions, there was an incredible amount of work done by @ELIXIREurope to make this #BioHackEU22 happen!
Many thanks to them to have managed to get this amazing bunch of people together for this event 👏
https://t.co/lhOa8pvb2c
🎉Thank you all for joining #BioHackEU22! A special thanks to our online and overseas participants 🙌 staying up late hacking through different projects with us.
👏It has been a great week, we had BiohackaTONs of fun!! Look forward to seeing you next year for #BioHackEU23!🥳
Nightingale will also be at the upcoming @ELIXIREurope biohackathon in Paris #BioHackEU22
Are you going too? Do you want to know what we'll do there? Come have a chat with me at #ECCB2022 poster session (P020-T) and I'll tell you!
@ELIXIREurope@4ndr01d3 Some pictures from an intense week of hackathon at #BioHackEU22
Great place, interesting collaborations, new people, and of course amazing food as this happens in France!
@jcbarret@emblebi Since #AlphaFoldDB predictions now cover nearly all of UniProtKB DB, have you considered using the @uniprot search engine to take advantage of its ranking, and the advanced search capabilities?
now https://t.co/CYOyP61uW4
even shows directly the AF status for all the proteins
Yet another AI-impacts-key-biological-data-resource-gets-rolled-out-over-everything from @emblebi and @GoogleAI on protein annotation. It's like data to knowledge augmentation on a global/all of life scale. Brilliant stuff. Congrats to @uniprot team and @GoogleAI group.
@JulianaAssisG@m_correa_m@GonzaParra_ Not anymore, since a bit before the pandemic we have to book spaces through an app in order to get to the campus. There are public buses that @Gabi_Merino might have been referring to, or the middle of the day shuttles that don't require booking. Otherwise, train + walk...
The #BCNCollaboratorium kick-off symposium happened this week. Happy to have been able to attend at the always fantastic @the_prbb building and to also discover the new collaboration space by @embl@EMBLBarcelona and @CRGenomica at Campus de la Ciutadella
If you missed the webinar we gave last week, you can now find the video and all the material from last week's webinar on "Programmatic access to @uniprot using Python" on the @EBItraining website!
The webinar is free to rewatch, and open to all: https://t.co/YWEVQkPIU1

One of the things you'll discover is that the REST API is one of many ways to get access to this data.
Just like our colleagues at @ensembl, we recommend different methods depending on the size of the data.
Discover more in their #ThursdayTweetorial here https://t.co/Mg9D2S9Nmz
1/9 Its #Thursdaytweetorial time! The Ensembl database contains reference biological data on many different organism https://t.co/tF8zvqVhD3. One of the ways to to access this data programmatically is through the @ensembl REST API https://t.co/a4TLTd8IH5
You've been wondering how to get access, programatically, to the data that you can see on the @uniprot website?
Look no further!
This Thursday Emily and I from @emblebi will show you how to retrieve and play with all this data through the REST #API, using #Python as an example.
Interested in #protein sequence, function and variation data? Join the webinar tomorrow with @uniprot to find how to access such data programmatically. Registration is free but essential https://t.co/35nnpRo5te #Python#pythonprogramming#bioinformatics
