When my life is done
Let me be remembered
As a soldier in this fight
True to his country
Steadfast at his word
Who held his family dear
And tried his best
To keep them safe
But above all
As the one who knew
The heart
The soul
The torrent of her
As the man
Who loved Claire Fraser
Da Capo
This is not the end
Not the long sleep
At the coming of the moon
Nor the black of night
When stars surrender
And hurl their dust
To heaven
This is simply
The story of us
Told in measured time
A symphony
Notes bittersweet and brave
And at the last breath
Played once again
The Earth
From the far reaches of space
To the tiniest flower
It is ever beautiful
No matter how old
How forsaken
Or forgotten
No matter the storm
Or the silence
It is a swirl of stardust
A symphony of cells
A glimpse of heaven
It is Earth ever faithful
Our dear friend
Our home
I am weary
From the day
Sorrow sits within my soul
Birds do not sing
The air is still
The silence heavy
Time is restless and undone
And I am lost
But looking up
I take a breath
And I see
Heaven
A wonder of light
A promise of hope
An answer to a forgotten prayer
And I am found
@SassenachPlace I am certain you have humbled many with your thoughtful, beautiful posts. Your respect of nature’s grace, in both its resolute endurance and tenacious frailty, from the mountains to a drop of rain on the tiniest flower, reminds us every day of its everlasting impact on our lives.
We are surrounded
By Nature
Engrossed in it
Overwhelmed by it
Standing knee deep in its waters
Its scents
Its beauty
We cannot think for one moment
We are superior
We are only here for a moment
Paled beside its grandeur
Humbled by its majesty
We are the caretakers
Of its future
We are sentries
On this quiet road
That wanders to a distant place
Where the sun waits
And the night is patient
And dreams lie heavy in the air
Vigilant we stand
But we can only watch
As time runs swift and down
And limbs grow old
And hearts break
To find the road was never ours

You understand her - her beauty, her darkness, her wiles, her joys and sorrows, her life and death. Because of your photography, we all understand her just a little bit better. ❤️
