@EastSideStaff I call these "yes, but" companies and regularly praise the president of our company for simply being a "yes" when it comes to remote. Some of our current staff left for jobs that were back in the office....interesting mix of perspectives
@k8bisch I'm a transplant here to SC and HR and this....this is normal and a regular struggle. Shame on them. Or as they say in the south, bless their hearts. Love the new name and hate how you got there
McKinsey:
βIf your only response to attrition is to raise compensation, youβre unwittingly telling people that your relationship with them is transactional & their only reason to stay with you is a paycheck."
Advice that's way too late for a lot of companies.

Great HR people care deeply + give 100% to support employees in your company, but thatβs not our super power. Itβs that we can nimbly do this at ANY company. So when you donβt support HR, weβll go do it at a new company. The next day. WATCH.
You're actually not a mess at all.
You're just a feeling person in a messy world.
You are exactly right to feel a lot right now.
It does not mean you're weak- it means you're strong enough to be paying attention.
Be gentle with you, please.
@iamjulieturney Know your own values and push back when needed. And you do not need to be all things to all people. And lastly, its ok to say I don't know (but I'll find out and get back to you) and to prioritize your own mental health and wellbeing
