Re. NYT article, Freudenfreude is bad German AND redundant (in English texts) as there’s already a word meaning pleasure in others’ happiness: “confelicity”.

I guess not as neat as schaden vs freuden, but if it ain’t broke… 🤷🏻‍♀️
