@LBC@NickFerrariLBC@mollymaehague & others are forgetting the many privileges they might have that others don't - young, healthy, attractive, intelligent. Privilege is not just a question of class & race. Harder to 'hustle' if you learning disabilities &/or physical or mental health issues
Beyond belief. In Japan, women need to get permission from their husbands before they can have an abortion. In some cases, doctors require consent from ex-partners or abusers. Please sign the petition to give women control over their own bodies. https://t.co/9aKeWnUQcB
@JessDeWahls Hmm when I was first introduced to Judith Butler and ideas about gender non-binary, I did wonder whether if utilising the language around race/nationality/culture whether drag could be seen as a form of cultural appropriation?
@JessDeWahls I'm wondering:
If transwomen = women
Do
Women = transwomen
Surely the experience of both (before transition at least) is significantly different... Biologically, culturally and emotionally.
Can the equation only be one directional?
And where are the voices of the transmen?
I am by no means defending the actions of Martin Bashir, but I canโt help feeling the massive pile on is another dead cat. What are we not supposed to be looking at?
So proud of @Lucy_Springall who has another review published online - this time she's responding to the artist Rafal Zajo, who's current show is currently at Public Gallery.

@SkylerAvery5@BBCWomansHour@janeclarejones Yes the experience of trans ppl is important but so is the experience of women. Just as non trans women can't know the trans woman bodily experience and impacts of that, there are parts of the female sex bodily experience that trans women won't have. Compassion for all is key.
@SkylerAvery5@BBCWomansHour@janeclarejones The use of the word 'outdated' here is apt. Lived experience of older women is not included in the conversation, despite their having a fuller experience of what its like to live in a female sexed body. Menstruation, pregnancy, menopause and their impacts should not be sidelined
This news is really disturbing. Women need to be able to speak freely about their views on sex and gender. As a sex we have been oppressed for millenia. Whilst the recognition of gender non binaries is important, so is the lived experience of women. #lisakeogh
Scottish law student, Lisa Keogh says she was invited to share her views about what defines a woman during University debates. Sheโs now being investigated for those comments which some considered inappropriate and offensive. Listen to full interview here: https://t.co/60Xu5qIi9q
If there's one petition you sign this year, please make it this one. There's little that's more important than a shift to a Wellbeing Economy.
