Today @SadiqKhan has pledged to continue offering free school meals to primary school children, which is in my opinion a great use of London taxpayer's money. This is HUGE and part of what I’ve been working on for the past 20 years. Food in schools is as essential as exercise books - you can’t learn without it.
These are the facts:
1. Kids do better at school and get better grades
2. Attendance increases
3. They’re more ready to learn, with more capacity to concentrate
4. Everyone is equal at the lunch table
5. It supports children to be healthier
6. Fed children are happier
7. They’re more likely to go on and get better jobs and so fuel the economy
8. More kids at the lunch table means more money goes into the system, so better quality meals and equipment can be offered, and that means a happier catering workforce
9. Families are better supported financially
10. It’s just the right thing to do!
Nothing is free. This is about focussing on how money is spent. I believe we should prioritise our children's well-being. Mr Khan’s decisive action should serve as a wake-up call to other decision-makers, politicians and mayors across the country. Some come on guys, what are you going to do about it?

At a party in West London 1983 (I was 17) she stood laughing at me when I was dancing. She did not look 7 years older than me and I genuinely thought I could mesmerise her into my life with ludicrous moves. She laughed and I danced. We didn’t say a word to each other. When 1985 came round and Smooth Operator became my fav song on the radio, I nearly fainted when I saw it was her on TV singing it. I told my dad the story of dancing for her and our ‘deep non verbal communication’ as he was reading the newspaper. I told him in all earnestness that she could have been my wife if only I’d opened my mouth & said something. He just said “Bache gooz” which is Persian for “fucking grow up.”
A judge scolded right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Tuesday for lying under oath during his defamation trial in Travis County, Tex.
“You must tell the truth while you testify,” Judge Maya Guerra Gamble said. “This is not your show.”

Look, if politicians can’t hire their mates and pay them £1,000 a day and engage in sexual congress with them in breach of their own public health guidance, then we’re not going to continue to attract the brightest and the best to front-line politics.
