Happy Lunar New Year! And for me it's double the reason to celebrate — it's also my birthday. 🎂🐴
Last year I set goals and I failed. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I didn't put in the work and I let myself down. But that stops today. This time I'm going in 100%. No excuses.
First — Comics. I want to make comics. But instead of jumping straight into a 24 page book I'm going to start with 1 page. Just one page. Then build up to 5 pages. And hopefully down the line I'll get to that full 24 pages and beyond. You gotta start somewhere. 🎨
Second — Writing. And this one is personal. Growing up the library was like a second home to me. I would walk in in the morning, pick up a book and not put it down until the library closed. Biography, politics, sci-fi, fantasy — anything that caught my eye. When I got internet access I was deep into webnovels and light novels. I loved reading.
But somewhere along the way I stopped. Now I just doom scroll on social media like everybody else. I need to stop that. I need to go back to reading. But more than that — I want to write. I want to create. My goal is to start a short story before the end of this month. 📚
Third — My health. It's not great right now and I'll be honest about that. I need to cut back on the junk food, start eating healthy, get my body moving and get my sleep under control. No more excuses. It starts now. 💪
Fourth — Creating in other mediums. I want to get into game design first. Starting small with GDevelop 5 and RPG Maker MZ. I also want to learn how to make and edit videos. And maybe — just maybe — dabble into music. I doubt it but with AI and Vocaloid who knows. I'll have to see. 🎮🎬🎵
Fifth — Just being a better person. More present. More intentional. More helpful to others. Simple as that. 🌱
It's the Year of the Fire Horse. The Horse doesn't stop running. Neither will I. Last year is done. Today on my birthday and the Lunar New Year I start over. For real this time. ✨
This is exactly what I’m talking about. A game can look amazing, be genuinely fun, and have some really cool mechanics. But the moment you tell the anti-AI crowd that AI helped make it, and I mean AI guided by an actual human, they’ll absolutely rip the game to shreds. What a crazy time to be alive.

Those shitty Nsfw games are doing will cause of impulse buy,on top of them being cheaper then the average games at time. Which is easier for customers to take a chance with those games.
Yes I know you have a Patreon subscription, because I follow you on patreon. And I'm glad you put a ton of effort into MDRG it one of the best adult games I played.
Again steam has the scale because majority of devs use Steam as the only option to upload their games in,where their plenty of options.
I have a steam library, but I also have gog as well. I have over 657 games on GOG 1/3 of them of them are Eroge games. I don't buy them on steam.
if I see one on steam I ask the devs if they have plans on GOG,Itch.lo,or another site if they say yes I would buy it on that site. I have your game on Itch.lo
I voted for your game on GOG dreamlist. If your game is approved and you uploaded on GOG. I would buy your game on GOG in a heartbeat.
I would say this. That would be true if the game that someone is selling generic and need to succeed on impulse buy.
A decent to great game don't need steam for success especially adult games. You should know this because your one of them!
You have a great game that succeeded without being on steam. And their plenty of steam alternatives Devs, and Eroge Devs.
Itch.lo,GOG,Dlsite,JastUSA,Epic game store,etc.... Or they can built their own platform.
The reason why steam is a Pseduo- monopoly. Is because Devs are only choosing steam as the only option to sell their games. They don't put their games on other platforms as well as steam.
@Ludedwolf@RetroSonya@RealMatthewBall It was. But the Antis want to pretend otherwise. Because admitting they always did this I'd admitting they can't and shouldn't be trusted. It's always been a clique with power struggles and tyrants(in the online commission sphere anyway).
My bad. I should of carefully took my time to structure my points well.
I'm just saying that when it comes down to Art it more about the artist and what they do with that art. Then the Art itself.
A good example of this is Goobsmooch. His art looks mediocre in of itself. But when he turns it into a comic and dub it. That when it becomes interesting.
On top of the Artist himself being interesting.

Honestly if you look at the Art industry/Community as a whole. It was always filled with Gatekeepers and hypocrites.
Remember 2-5 years ago their was a huge debate on whatever someone who use stamp and character brushes were real artist or not?
Well that debated ended when alot of artists realize that they can make their own stamps and character brushes and sell it.
@chaos_gent@RealMatthewBall Depending on the models. Not all models use Stolen art. Some models use art of a specific artist that they have permission and paying for.
Then you have models that pay business that own alot of stock images that they use for the training data.
@GreenGestalt111@RealMatthewBall I'm a Daz3d users. Back on the day, people would shit on Daz3d renders and call it Barbies for men.
I don't know if Daz3d renders counts as art or not. Honestly I don't care and I don't see myself as an artist anyway.
I just enjoy rendering characters.
@RetroSonya@RealMatthewBall To be fair wasn't that a problem before AI was a thing?
I remember the days when artist were accused of tracing Art. If their art work was too good.
That was into Tracing became acceptable in the art community.
That the thing they don't even need to use AI. Alot of artist can easily make money if they go the indie route.
They don't need to join a corporate job to make a living with. Yes corporate job are a bit safer then going full independent.
But at the same time these are the same corporate jobs that be burning these artist out.
