Also, the artist doesn't necessarily need to outperform the ai, he can just start using ai to increase the speed and quality of his output.
Traditional artists didn't need to outperform Photoshop (or Photographers), for example.

The problem is that it looks awful whenever she opens her mouth.
And the squished frames which make it look like a 4:3 image was stretched to 16:9

Has painting lost its value? No.
Besides, painters now use photography as a convenient tool for references so they don't have to physically set up/go to the desired scene.
