Today, Sherman Marek - the lead attorney in the Jung v. AAMC case that challenged the residency match on antitrust grounds - testified before the House Judiciary’s antitrust subcomittee.
Full statement (link below):
ERAS pricing is not some innate property of the universe that lies beyond the control of the AAMC.
You don’t need preference signaling to change pricing. At any point as revenue grew, the AAMC could have simply decided to charge applicants less.
They never did.
I don’t know what to say. If I saw somebody doing this I would assume he came back from the beach with water in his ears. The VOR is exactly that, a reflex. You don’t need to practice reflexes. While you’re strengthening your VOR, don’t forget to work out your patellar reflex, your gag reflex, and your anal wink.
1. We really need to ditch the “toughness” narrative when it comes to suspected brain injuries.
2. Seeing Stafford’s eyes roll back & hands in fencing posture, viewers knew something was clearly wrong. Is the NFL showing there’s a different concussion protocol in the playoffs?
Now that U-M are National Champions, it seems like a good day to point out that the blue and yellow colors for the buttons on the Bovie were (allegedly) picked by William Bovie as an homage to U-M, where he got his bachelor’s degree in 1905. 🧐
OK SO FIRST I MAKE AND CERTIFY MY RANK LIST AND PROGRAMS MAKE THEIR LIST AND THEN ON A MONDAY IN MARCH I GET AN EMAIL TELLING ME IF I MATCH AND THEN ON THAT FRIDAY I OPEN AN ENVELOPE TO LEARN WHERE I MATCH BUT THE ALGORITHM FAVORS THE APPLICANT

🧵on why this is dumb, and how to make it better.
1️⃣ This is 405. I don’t care what the SS Bar weighs - it’s 45lbs.
2️⃣ This kid is worth millions, and even if he wasn’t..
❌ The sheer forces on the hip of the back leg and his spine.
❌ If he falls, his leg is in a TRX strap.
Awesome thread! “Cantaloupe and eggplant have been featured in human cuisine for centuries, yet their utility for surgical education remains unexplored. “ 😂
🧵regarding the packing of cavities for hemostasis during surgery:
Here I will discuss why using a precise technique for packing for hemostasis is important, what happens when you don't use a precise technique, and a pointer about packing newly drained abscess cavities.

While most of us can’t relate to trying to make it in Major League Baseball, this is an excellent perspective on the importance of mindset along any difficult journey… vision for the future depends on focus on today.
My Honest Reality
March 19, 2023
Welcome to the 2023 baseball season.
Opening Day is around the corner. Pitchers are almost ready. Position players are locked in. Fans share the optimism a new season brings.
But this isn't just another season.
This is likely my last.
@NuelleSportsMD@DeFrodaSportsMD@ShayneKel @MUOrthopaedic Nice to see the teamwork. Can definitely understand how much it helps after seeing a meniscus transplant for the first time today!
Mama Kelce finding Travis and Jason after the game is so great.
She knew one will be on the losing end. But the moment with Jason was still very emotional. This got me...

Totally agree with this stance on ‘Hip Drop Tackles.’
We can identify and address a pattern of high-risk tackles without implying malicious intent of any defensive player.
The NFL has a great opportunity to limit ball-carriers’ risk of lower extremity injuries here.
this may not be popular
but after seeing multiple key players injured this weekend using the technique…
and researching how other pro leagues saw an increased usage & eliminated it from their game via penalty…
this offseason, the NFL may want to discuss hip drop tackles
Note the grass/dirt fly up and give way under right foot.
Like ski binding releasing to save knee injury.
@LaneJohnson65 specifically addressed the grass saving him post game.
As an owner, would you install grass to save one player knee injury a year?
The single most powerful habit for personal growth:
Journaling.
Over the past 5 years, I've journaled every single morning—and along the way, I've:
• Answered over 1,000 questions
• Tested every app, pen, & notebook
But I always return to a pen, paper, and these 5 prompts:
