I chose nutrition as a career path because I saw the potential & power that food can have on health & performance. If we just pay a little more attention to what we eat, we can impact our lives in a dramatic way. Remember - Our bodies are built from the foods we eat.
For any aspiring RD’s (and practicing RD’s), my #1 piece of advice would be to be passionate about this profession. Not only passionate about food & nutrition, but also passionate about helping people make impactful changes to their health & wellbeing.
Nutrition education must come from the classroom. The skills & knowledge required to live a healthy life should be taught to students in elementary & throughout high school. We can’t rely on social media & other media outlets to be our main source of this vital information.
