To whoever recommended Dragon’s Dogma to me YEARS ago, I just picked it up and easily one of the most underrated games I’ve played.
It’s. So. Good.
WHY DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG TO PLAY THIS?!?
@alienlv1023 Like I’m going to agree with you on pacing but more so because the pacing of the game is interesting and brings up questions.
Great game. Great adaptation. But still warrants a lot of question for both the game and the series. 🤷🏾♂️
@alienlv1023 Secondly, nothing happens at the university except for Joel getting wounded.
And finally, everyone loved Ellie’s back story and wanted it included in the adaptation. And again, they were extremely faithful to the source material. Like idk how you can say it’s a bad adaptation
@alienlv1023 I mean if you really wanna have that argument, you also have to concede that the ending of the game was rushed as well. (Which is more of what I would say)
@alienlv1023 I mean…from the time you get knocked out to rescuing Ellie, is literally 15 minutes in the game. 5 of those are shooting people to get to Ellie.
The game wasn’t a long drawn out thrilling action ride. The ending happened VERY quickly in the game too.
It will be very interesting to see what happens in season 2 and how they handle THAT scene as well. There’s a lot of gravity with it and hoping they are able to give it breath through the whole second season.
I think TLOU finale was damn near perfect. I think there is some validity on the topic of pacing but also, like…the game is paced pretty quickly.
My wife and I finished the game right before we saw the finale and both felt like they were rushed.
It begs the question of what do you do in place of free roaming in video games. Something that can add HOURS to a game but can’t really show in a film/tv adaptation. Additionally, what do you do with Missable dialogue/lore collectibles.
