Includes the original post I wrote + an AI re-write, for no good reason.
Confession: I've been neglecting my online presence for years, across various projects, while my site stagnated.
But thanks to some AI assisted theme migration, I finally beat the "I'll sort this out some day" inertia.
In under an hour!

I can't believe there aren't any ads in LLM responses yet.
I give it 6 months, as abilities plateau and new reasoning techniques are all that's left to squeeze out the last few %.
It'll take a memory, persistence breakthrough to avoid the adpocalypse.
Unblockable ads incoming.
He describes the support they have received through the charity as well as the advocacy work done by Young Lives vs Cancer.

If you're looking for a good cause to get behind, here's a fine one:
May's dad Clive has so far raised a phenomenal amount for Young Lives vs Cancer.
It's the last few days before the marathon and so I'm sharing the fundraiser to see if anyone in my network or beyond would want to contribute.
Clive explains more in the link below, including the impact May's diagnosis and ongoing treatment have had on the family.
Let's see if this post can spread or be promoted on its own. Pretty sure the tweet above has hit the watchword list.

@khemaridh This actually inspired me a little more. Like yes we know that consistency is everything at the start but this puts it so clearly.
Where'd you hear him say it?
Did it make me want it more, even if learning slower?
I have the same "passions" today. They really bedded in.
Will this be true of the hyper connected generations? Will they be able to learn more deeply and broadly than we did?
When I was 16 studying A-level French I sat at the top of our house in the window trying to pick up Europe 1 on long wave radio. To hear spoken French.
I had similar struggles with programming, buying the student edition on CD and the books...
@SimonJalbert Path to wealth that starts with "have wealth"?
Reminds me of the old trading joke: quickest way to end up with a million in trading?
Start with 2 million.
