@TimBinTB@Jared_Carrabis Do you extend that philosophy to players as well? If so where are you with Anthony, the face of the franchise? Only 62 PA, 68 WRC+ and a negative fWAR.
Rival evaluators just flaming the Red Sox offense in @alexspeier’s new piece:
“I can’t believe they are content going with so many [Triple-A] players — utility infielders — at the bottom of the lineup.”
“Lot of guys on the team who satisfy the model but are role players who are being overexposed.”
“I’m still confused on the Red Sox roster construction and truthfully how they thought it would turn out any different than it has. The holes that were there at the start of the season are still there.”
@fadelinez_ Hard pass on Cora; he has proven he can’t analyze talent well. I’d much rather have Eddie Romero or Raquel Ferreira. I’d also love to have Theo Epstein fix this mess.
@HebHammer94 We might be better off. Hear me out: if we didn’t have Contreras’s production and leadership, would Breslow still have a job and could we have a full rebuild underway…
@FRI1339@Jared_Carrabis They’ve spent this whole season trying to help him yet his attitude has been terrible. They were setting him up for success by putting an opener in front of him. He can’t get out of his own way. Personally glad he’s in AAA. Let the next man up have a shot.
I understand it’s preposterous to have to cater to a big league pitcher like this, but if it works, then why do the Red Sox keep going away from the opener? He’s proven time and time again that he sucks as a starter and is fantastic as a bulk reliever. Just find the right opener.
