This month marks Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month.
Despite facing discrimination in many areas of life, our Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities have long contributed to life in our capital and today we celebrate that rich legacy.
Seems increasingly likely everyone dies in some upcoming drone war. That’s what’s going to happen.. something somewhere escalates and we all get sucked into it and killed by drones.
@jbclaims I learned that lesson the hard way at the Oval… took the kids to a hundred game, was on unders defended and it was overs chased. A miserable time with every boundary a bitter feeling while they cheered.
Rarely shocked by Trump but that press conference was really shocking. No way he should have gone about it like that. I don’t mind if he had said to Zelenskyy in private ‘we actually don’t care that much, agree to our proposed split of Ukraine or we cut funding’
@green_client Agree, Trump has it sussed as a teetotaller and soft drink consumer… of all the huge amounts plastic that isn’t necessary, straws are zero of that, and at a microscopic proportion anyway
@jbclaims Any view JB? I’m watching but don’t have a clue and up for a shrewd cheer rather than a guess up. I think I’d go for Usyk with my gag opinion
@GuillemLieaDay@NickMiller79 True, but I there isn’t quite the same contradiction in other cases. Criticising teaching of the Church isn’t seen as a form of racism in the same way criticism of Islam is perceived. All religions have arbitrary and nonsensical views, only some you are obliged to accept.
@GuillemLieaDay@NickMiller79 It’s a completely unresolved paradox of modern culture/politics… Islamophobia is bad….. but traditional Islamic teachings say homosexuality is a grave crime. Same with status of women in Islam.
Helen Mirren says she feels “sad” that Kurt Cobain is no longer alive because he never got the chance to experience GPS and its “magical” functionality.
“I always say, it’s so sad that Kurt Cobain died when he did, because he never saw GPS,” Mirren said. “GPS is the most wonderful thing, to watch my little blue spot walking down the street. I just find it completely magical and unbelievable.”

@green_client Yeah this was my reaction.. it’s just so incredibly insulting to black people. The third point is also beyond belief on that front. Who is being bought by this stuff vs who is being outraged (black and white) and yes surely this isn’t good policy on even that level.
@Underdog147 I don’t think it’s fake but what just mystifies me is how they could have possibly gone there over 50 years ago but no one has been since…
The fire could potentially have happened at any one of these buildings, but it didn’t. A massive witch hunt focused specifically on the one building that did have the fire is ridiculous imo.
Now remedial work is going on across the country on cladding that has acted like a wick sucking the flames around the building. There are hundreds of buildings like this.
