🚩The RBA looks at the trimmed mean, which only fell to 3.4% from 3.8% YoY. That’s in line with the RBA saying inflation will temporarily pull back before rising again. Why? Two reasons: Electricity prices fell 17.6%, supported by federal and state energy bill rebates. Petrol prices fell 7.6% YoY, but spot oil prices are rising again as the two biggest economies (Fed & PBOC) are cutting rates.
🚩The biggest CPI gainers can't be slowed. Rents are up +6.8%. Insurance costs +6.2%. Fruit & veg +9.6%. They face upward pressures. The RBA says 'consumption' will slow, which should bring down inflation next year. But consumption can’t change these dynamics. People need a roof over their heads—landlords won’t drop rents, will they? Insurance premiums are rising—will insurers drop premiums? Fruit and veg prices are seasonally rising—will farmers want to charge less?
🚩Also, spot agricultural food prices are rising amid drought concerns. Wheat prices are up 9% month-on-month, and sugar is up 24%.
🚩 So, when Governor Bullock said yesterday that more pain is ahead, if you read the tea leaves, it likely means not only will inflation stay higher for longer, but so too will interest rates in Australia.

“A new car safety study has proven that electric vehicles (EVs) are too heavy to be restrained by guardrails that line roads in case of accidents, researchers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln said.

In a study sponsored by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) and partnered with Auburn University’s Transportation Research Institute, MwRSF conducted a “first-of-its-kind crash test” of an EV pickup truck in October 2023.

The test used a 7,148-pound 2022 Rivian R1T truck that was sent at a barrier at a speed of 60 mph, with footage showing the heavy EV completely blasting through the guardrail and launching over the concrete wall while sending chunks of it flying.”

She would have the sole power to determine what is ‘misinformation" - by an objective standard of what is she determines is "reasonably verifiable" as misinformation.

Further, she’d have the power to tell X how they should run their business and how people should be censored by X and have their freedom of speech suppressed.

If you questioned the dogma that the covid vaccines were "safe & effective", you could be censored under clause 14.1 (b) if the Ministry of Truth determined that this could for cause "harm to the efficacy of preventative health measures in Australia"

If you argued that using coercion to force someone to undergo an experimental medical intervention was a breach of human rights - you could be censored under clause 14.1 (b) if the Ministry of Truth determined that this could for cause "harm to public health"

If you opposed Net Zero and argued it was a scam and that expenditure on solar/wind was wasteful - under clause 14.1 (f) if the Ministry of Truth determined that this could for cause "imminent harm to the Australian economy" you’d be censored.

If you criticised the Big Banks or warned citizens risked being debanked for their poltical views (as happened to Nigel Farage in the UK) - you could be censored under clause 14.1 (f) if the Ministry of Truth determined that this could for cause "harm to public confidence in the banking system’
