@CBKasner I hadn't seen many episodes of that show but yeah! Different people will process that type of trauma in different ways and it may seem "random" or "destructive" or what ever, but it is as you said, their way to control something in their lives.

Is it good? No. But trauma can make people do destructive things. In this case, he is done not being true to his desires.
