@zinkdid @elonmusk If you seriously think the dems got away with "stealing" an election while Trump was the president and his VP had to certify Biden, I'm not sure how exactly you expect the republicans to overrule a second dem win, with a blue VP and Trump having no power whatsoever.
@SarahHuckabee Calling 100,000 people in the state you represent "immoral and incompetent" after shutting down their efforts to restore their rights? Fascinatingly ironic how heartless and childish people who claim to be Christian can act.
@raiinrocks @adamorgler @Minecraft@DevS They just added the Copper Bulb, a hugely impactful Redstone tool with unique functionality. Also new doors, a grate, and a couple other new copper building blocks. Probably not so useless any more.
@everyonewinhere@sandboxpete@CalltoActivism I like when people talk about the national debt/spending like it's something that has ever affected their life. Pretty sure most people care more about shit like healthcare and their basic human rights than a dollar number that grows all the time and doesn't affect anything.
@LQuessenberry @tfd_jrdy @mmm_lemonheads @SuperfanTB12 @SenPolehanki Common Core doesn't describe how to teach math, it's just standards for what to learn at what ages. It doesn't state how to teach it. Feels like you're mad at the wrong thing?
@BrianDHolmes88 @chrismsutcliffe Kinda sorta. Like we can see into it and there's energy but who's to say what is at the center of it. Maybe energy's just swirling around her. Prime shows her curling up that small before the change is complete, and a scan states that it's a meter wide, so it could be whatever.
@Hugo_Potamus@AbzHehe @ananaasEdits @elonmusk So I see you never saw someone use "Econ" in school, but if you had an Aeronautics or Gymnastics class do you think the kids would say Aeros and Gyms? I guess a better question would be, can you name other singular words that commonly shorten but keep their S?
@Hugo_Potamus@dxbdaddy@AbzHehe @ananaasEdits @elonmusk Oh, yeah, I mean the only reason I found your post in the first place is because it's like 2 replies away from the person I came here to gawk at. Mostly just passing time at this point.
@dxbdaddy@Hugo_Potamus@AbzHehe @ananaasEdits @elonmusk Mathematics covering multiple fields doesn't really make any difference when the word is still singular. Lots of singular words are umbrella terms for multiple things. None of this gives precedence for this particular kind of word shortening.
@Hugo_Potamus@AbzHehe @ananaasEdits @elonmusk Nobody shortens Economics to Econ? Sir have you ever been to a *school*? Kids in Mathematics and Economics classes go to their Math and Econ classes all the time. Never heard someone say something like "Econ-101"?
@Hugo_Potamus@dxbdaddy@AbzHehe @ananaasEdits @elonmusk Yeah I mean for you "maths" is correct but for the other person it's "math". Stick to correcting the things that are incorrect everywhere, yeah?
@dxbdaddy@Hugo_Potamus@AbzHehe @ananaasEdits @elonmusk But mathematics *is* singular. That's why we don't say "mathematics are". It's just a singular word with an S at the end, like "news". Ultimately I don't care if people say math or maths, but I disapprove of the other guy trying to correct it.
@Hugo_Potamus@AbzHehe @ananaasEdits @elonmusk Nothing wrong with *math. Mathematics is a singular word that ends with s (hence saying "mathematics is" rather than "mathematics are"). If you don't shorten "Economics" to "Econs" then you shouldn't shorten "Mathematics" to "Maths".
