New paper out from my postdoc days with @iochromaland showing how Andean colonization during the mid-Miocene and subsequent rapid climatic #niche evolution, but not #pollinator shifts, increased diversification in the #Melastomataceae tribe Merianieae, https://t.co/0CLipPgRRz

PhD student @UCBerkeley Gabriel Trujillo was killed while collecting plant samples 🌱 in Mexico. We need the Mexican government to fully investigate and get justice for Gabriel and his family, and for all researchers who are targeted while doing fieldwork. (1/2)
At LMU-Munich we are looking for a PhD student to work on a herbarium-based phylogenomic project focusing on Astragalus 🌿 (the most species-rich genus of flowering plants!). Please RT! @researchbavaria@Botanical_@PlantSciDBG_en
After a two year process (and many more in gestation) a book that brings together most of our current knowledge on #melastomataceae
