15 years ago I was a brand new mom and remember hearing about this and frantically checking on friends at an event that I choose to stay home from.
Today I'm running for office to support those that keep our bridges and buildings safe
15 years ago this morning, people crossed the 35W bridge headed to work. A schools bus full of 4th grade day campers went to a pool (they’re now 24). None of us could have conceived that at 6:05pm that bridge would collapse. Thinking of all the survivors and families today.

🧵HAPPENING NOW: Senate DFLers, community members, and advocates are holding a press conference to call for immediate action from Senate Republicans to pass the Public Safety bill and include the following three gun safety proposals they have continued to block for years.

There was no good reason for Republicans to walk away after promising schools $1 billion in new education funding. But there was a bad one: election-year politics. #mnleg#edmnvotes#fundourfutures

Today on the floor, the Senate DFL pushed bills forward that advance and protect reproductive freedom in Minnesota.
There was no debate.
Instead, our Republican colleagues sat silent, casting no vote after no vote.🧵
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds that 54% of Americans think Roe should be upheld while only 28% believe it should be overturned.
That's a two to one margin.

The leak didn’t erode the court’s legitimacy.
Bush v Gore did.
Mitch McConnell denying Obama's nominee and then stealing a seat did.
Lying under oath and then taking away our rights did.
Republicans will focus on the leak to deflect from the Roe ruling. But we see you.
Minnesota could fully fund special education in every school if Senate Republicans spent just half of what they want to give away in tax cuts this session. Unreal. #mnleg#edmnvotes#fundourfutures
Thank you teachers for sticking with the kids, for doing the job most of us can't, and for pivoting an amazing number of times.
The main reason I'm running for senate is to help untie the knots of funding at a state level so schools can be funded.
