Can someone explain to me why wind turbine blades do not have an abrasion resistant leading edge (other than allowing them to slowly erode, BY DESIGN, in order to profit from the monumental maintenance costs)???
@RinkusSharon@handleitgrips That's interesting. Most people, myself included, prefer a rougher grip.
As long as I can access the mag release without impacting my grip, a rough texture works best for me.
On the the other hand, if it's too rough, it can impact one's time, especially with gloves.
@RinkusSharon@handleitgrips I find the Glock to be more ergonomic.
It fits my hands like a glove, plus there's the extra capacity.
But for other people, maybe the 1911 has a better feel to it. The weight also helps with recoil, especially as the mags get emptier. A Glock is relatively light on low ammo.
@TotalMotorcycle I've ridden several 2-stroke bikes. I am now in the market for a 200-300cc.
I will only buy a 4-stroke with the intention of turbocharging it.
The power curve of a 2-stroke has great appeal, in my view - something that can be partly replicated with a turbocharged 4-stroke.
@jaynemesis@cytrusf1 I hear your point, but I think that an exception should be made for Monaco.
It's a venue with a lot of history.
Qualifying makes up for the lack of action in the race, in my opinion.
@critical_codger@TotalMotorcycle It's a good point.
We didn't see turbos back then the way we see them now.
It was the new, hi-tech piece from motorsport.
Lag was A LOT more acceptable, especially as many 2-stroke also had a very tight power band.
But, even so, looking back, it was a little too early for it.
@there_is_no_if If Aston were fighting for podiums, Alonso would definitely be a lot less vocal. His complaints will not turn the car or the engine around. Motivation might. That's what the team needs.
On the other hand, plenty of fans and drivers have been vocal about the 2026 regs.
