Without language, there is no education or communication. That's why a language is not just another subject. A language is every subject, all knowledge, viewed through a different lens. Linguist or not, a language in school unlocks a much wider world. https://t.co/ytwPECVlqm
Attendance and picking children up for school - a thread 🧵
Whilst I totally buy into the mindset of getting children to school at almost any cost, there is a stark reality to this that the people suggesting extreme measures (head teachers collecting) simply do not understand.
And here is the Spanish ROJO Autumn Term Workbook. https://t.co/3aL1IQN9ej. It is Y3 or Y4 as the SOW is a rolling 2-year scheme. This amazing work is by Paula Vázquez-Valero, my colleague who leads on our trust Spanish KS2 SOW. As usual, there's a pdf and editable version. :)
HOT OFF THE PRESS :) Primary workbook for Rouge SOW https://t.co/KnYWgQOPtO - everything needed to accompany the PPT lessons, which are here: https://t.co/xm9toypJ6q There is a PDF and an editable version for teachers to customise.
“The drivers of challenging behaviour are often linked to poor mental health, unmet special needs, and family problems. More investment is needed for support services & funding for schools”: my comments @ASCL_UK on today’s @UniOfYork report https://t.co/p9zO7tXkR9
Hot #PhD reminder:
A tiny dose of 30 focused minutes a day yields a lot more in the long term than forcing yourself to work 8 hours today, getting overwhelmed, burning out + stalling!
Tiny amounts done consistently add up massively.

PLEASE RT! Would your **YEAR 11 GCSE FRENCH AND/OR SPANISH PUPILS** in a state school like to take part in a research study this summer and receive up to £30 in Amazon vouchers? If so, please express an interest here: https://t.co/KHFbWhzDUQ #mfl#mfltwitterati#mflchat#langchat
Introducing... the Penguin Book Vending Machine!
In 1935, Sir Allen Lane was inspired to create Penguin Books when he couldn't find a good book to read at Exeter St. David's train station.
We've gone back to our roots to ensure modern day commuters won't face the same problem.
