Today I wanted to be a good intern so I tried teaching the med students about GABA/Glutamate in alcohol withdrawal. After about 2 minutes of me lecturing one of them said "sorry, I feel like I should tell you I have a PhD in neuroscience and I studied GABA receptors" lol

@Dr_amoytheemd With what I know now about the MSPE, I'm shocked that anyone would write a bad evaluation that could end up in a deans letter. Like unless you've talked about it extensively or theres a patient safety issue, writing something that could ruin someone's career is bonkers.

@jbcarmody Pretty stark contrast to tell us about how wellness is prioritized but also we should work w/ a brain infection. Sort of goes to show that a lot of times wellness and resilience are emphasized in med school and residency until it inconveniences others.

@jbcarmody During med school orientation, we had a bunch of lectures on wellness, resilience etc. That same day, one of our admin explained the sick day policy and bragged about how he worked with meningitis/gave himself IV fluids and told us not to just "take off for the sniffles".
